After hearing all the stories and seeing the pictures from years past I am jealous. Having only gone to Butler High School I don't have the memories to share and never being real social in high school didn't help either. Must have been destined to be an introverted wallflower all my life. But a pretty one of course.

Yeah, that's what hs was all about. The girls were incredibly hot, and i was incredibly geeky.

John P: where/when was your military service? It seems astounding that our class lost no one in Vn.

John and David - I don't think you guys give yourselves enough credit. If anyone was introverted and a wallflower it was me! I was so intimadated by everyone in high school. I was embarrassed that my Dad owned a hardware store and I had to work in it and it seemed everyone else got to do so much and I had to work in that darn store everyday after school and on weekends. It's a wonder anyone remembers me because I was so afraid of not being accepted. Kind of wish I could go back now, I would have a barrel of fun and you guys could go with me! Guess we all had our "hang ups" back then...but look at how good we all turned out??

I guess there were a lot of us introverted wallflowers back then. Add me to the list. I was so shy, insecure, and quiet that I hardly talked to anyone except my little circle of friends. It kind of makes you want to go back knowing what you know now and do things differently. Oh, but on second thought, who wants to be sixteen again. Thirty might not be bad though (haha).

Looks like I started "Who Was The Biggest Wallflower Or Geek" contest. And all I was looking for was sympathy. David I was drafted Nov. 1965 and got out Nov. 1967.

Hi eveyone:I love this site simply for the fact; that it brings back a lot of memories for me. As I'm reading about the different reponses, it's like even though it's been 45 years ago, that we graduated; it's like I can allmost see the people talking; even though I have to admit I don't recognize some of the people, when I see their current pics. "That's just me thinking out loud..." I really do wonder what has happened to a lot of the people I graduated w/, & How their lives have been. The journeys they have traveled & experienced; It is truly Amazing how we've grown & changed.." Looking forward to seeing everyone after all these years!!!"

Sincerely, Linda L Toney-Schidecker

Hi everyone - I was only at Butler 3 years after 1 yr at Colonel White, so I really felt like an outsider. My only friend the first day of school was Dick Eckles because he was a neighbor and my mom asked his mom to ask him to tke me to school. The only other person to speak to me that day was Sylvia Sortman. What ever happened to her?? does anyone know? I wasn't shy but I was so worried I would say the wrong thing and people would think I was dumb and not like me. I remember being so thrilled when I got my first party invitation. Karen Gaylor and Judy Miller and I became friends and I felt more at home. If I had it to do all over again I would study harder and talk to more people and I would have tried out for those neat plays I saw pictures of at the first reunion.

Hi everyone, well let me tell you all, that I wouldn't have change a thing about high school. I loved the friends that I had, and everyday something happened. Sometimes good and sometimes not so good, but I loved everyday...( that I was there ). Would I have study more, well the ones that knew me knew that wasn't going to happen. I always thought that the Lord put me on this ole earth to have life..(even as a kid), and nothing has changed over the years. I enjoy life to the fullest. I'm really looking forward to seeing all of you at the reunion...and Brenda, keep up the good work, you are doing a great job.

If you haven't looked at the classmates' profiles lately, please take time to do so. Brenda has been hard at work adding senior pictures to the profiles.

Also, if you haven't looked at the "In Memory" page, there are many very touching sentiments left by classmates. This is a great place to share your memories of those who have passed on.

Hi Gang! Boy, it's great to see all of the messages and see that you all are using the website. It's been a lot of time consuming work but I think it is all coming together and I really need to give a BIG thank you to Arvie Schieltz - he has been tireless in hunting information on our "lost" classmates and finding info on our classmates who areno longer with us; Linda Bourne Hellard has been a big help with making phone calls and tracking down folks too and Sue Nickel Allen (between knee surgeries....3 to date!) is always willing to help. Hey Sue....I thought you were the Engineer on this train!!! And thanks to the guys - Eddie (I'll always think of him as Eddie) Hept, Ray Jones and Jim Terry for their help and support. Anyway, I'm glad people are using the site and anything that you can add, photos, notes on things you remember or want to embarass someone with....hey, go for it!! Anything we can do to make the site better, remember this is your site. Also, a big thank you to Becky May Eck from the Class of 63 - she spent a whole day with me showing me how to load the music (and evidently I WAS NOT a good student- as I'm still having problems with it) and some of the graphics on our site. If you get a chance, check out the Class of 63's site, she has done an amazing job. She is my hero!!!! So enough of my ramblings....just use the site, enjoy it and make it better. See you all in September!!

Opps! I just re-read this and I left out someone really important! Sharon Moore Harrison is our "historian" and has all the pictures from our previous reunions and she has done a great job with making a scrapbook. Little by little, we will be putting these on the website so that everyone can enjoy them. Sharon has spent a great deal of time and effort on the scrapbook and it shows. Great job, Sharon.

Hey Tom Gorman: I found a picture of you with a Jack from 6th grade at "The Annex" next to V.E. 1957-58. Do you remember Jack's last name? We have a Jack Brandenburg that is deceased and we cannot locate a school picture of him. He was always absent on picture day. HaHa. Does anyone else have a picture of Jack Brandenburg?? I am working on a "Special Album" in remembering our deceased. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

My sister was married to Jack Brandenburg for a short time. Maybe she has an old picture. I'll check.

Hey John Partlow: Linda Bourne Hellard sent me Jack Brandenburg's Obituary but if you could send me a picture I would really appreciate it. My address is 2801 Northlake Ct., Dayton, OH 45414. Thanks so much for your help.

Hey everyone coming to the reunion. Our classmate, Paul Meece, called me on Sunday and he is attending the reunion for the first time. He has not updated his profile on our website but if you were a friend of Paul's I thought you would want to know that he is attending. We only have a few short weeks before the reunion so get your reservation in to BRENDA. I hope to see you soon.

For those of you who attended Vandalia Elementary in Fifth and/or Sixth grades, you'll be happy to know that two of those class photos have been uploaded to Mary Dungan Beck's profile.

Hi Everyone! It's been so great hearing from so many old friends that I've lost touch with. I wish we could find everyone and have them come to the reunion - everyone! Not just graduates but people who were members of the class an for whatever reason - moved out of the area, changed schools - whatever, I just wish we could find them. I just heard from Judy Bailey, a friend since lst grade until they moved when we were juniors or sophmores and we lost complete touch. What a great surprise. Friendships like that just don't go away. If you know of someone who was a member of the class, let's find them and add them to our class list and see if we can locate them and reconnect. There's nothing like friends and great memories. Our next reunion will be our 50th -(and since I'm still 39....I'm not sure how that will work!!) - let's make it a reunion to remember and invite as many old friends as we can. So, here's to a great reunion this year and a really super one in 5 years!! I look forward to seeing you all or as my daughter who lives in South Caroline says "y'all"!!!!! See ya soon.

I've been doing a lot of thinking, like Brenda, about those people in our class who moved away before graduation. (Yes, Brenda, I am on vacation in Maine but brought my laptop with me.) Some of those I remember who moved away prior to graduation or some even in elementary or junior high are: Jim & Ray Hite, John Cron, Donnie Brown, Sharon Grenz, Mary Alice Roof, to name a few. If anyone would happen to know where these folks are, let us know so we can contact them. Or get in touch with them yourselves. Who can the rest of you remember to add to the list?

I am loving this fantastic web site. What a credit to all of you who have put this together in your "spare" time...a tremendous amount of time and work!! Thanks to all of you...Linda, Sharon, Brenda and Sue. I know more have helped. Linda, you mentioned Mary Alice Roof. I remember her so well and just wondered if anyone else did. Others I have thought of many times are Terry Hewitt and Ruth Ann McCormack. Just a suggestion. You are trying to locate Roberta Collins and Mary Ann Neal. Maybe this is a dumb question but have you checked with Bob Collins and Walt Neal? Best to all!!

Brenda Zenz (Windel)

Hi Judy - Yes, we have our "super, duper, people tracker" on the job, Arvie Schieltz. He has been relentless in finding people for us. Walt lost contact with Mary Ann several years ago, but Arvie found her and Walt is going to try to stop and see her on his way to Ohio; Roberta just doesn't want to found evidently. I had a couple addresses for her but all were returned as Unknown. Bob said he would talk to her but he didn't give me her address. AND Mary Alice Roof....I have thought about her many times, we'll have to sic Arvie on that one! Another one is Dana DeGroot, boy, what memories. We need you up here to help find these folks. Hope you can make it to the reunion, we have a lot of catching up to do. Anyone else you can think of, let us know.

Gary Jackson was in Jr High also but I think he moved away when we went to the new H.S. He always reminded me of Elvis...LOL, good looking kid. Also what about Mark Agnew. He also was in our Jr High class and I know he moved to St Petersburg, Florida because I looked him up once when we were on vacation.

I just finished adding names to the class pictures on the Stonequarry Elementary School page. Please, anyone who attended Stonequarry, look over the names and let me know the names of those I couldn't remember and/or correct me if I have any wrong. Thanks to Doran Butts for providing two of the photos and lots of the names. Also, thanks to Mary Bea Dungan Beck and Bob Rushing, we have four photos of fifth and sixth grade classes at V-E. Please look over those with an eye for correcting or identifying those we may not have known or have misidentified. If we are missing any photos that you have, please let me know. Looking forward to seeing those of you who will be at the reunion this weekend.

Hi Everyone! Boy, what a weekend! If you weren't here for the reunion you missed a great time. On Friday night we had over 110 people show up at Marion's Pizza including class members from 61, 62, 63 and 65 and one or two from 66. It was SRO but no one seemed to mind and they went through 16 to 18 pizzas in record time!! Several classmates came back that had never been to a reunion before and it was so great to renew those friendships. Saturday night's dinner was just as great and the renewing of friendships was even better! Anyone who was not there....we missed you....probably talked about you :-)!!!! We had a great meal, had a 50/50 Raffle that Linda Turner Thomas won ($102.00!! lucky duck!) and Linda's husband Chuck was our unofficial, official photographer and had a CD and Video from Friday night playing on Saturday (unfortunately he seemed to always get my "fat" side....I know that I am much taller and thinner than the pictures show!!). We will post these on the website in the near future. We also got enough donations to pay for the website for the next 5 years (we were on a freebie this year), so stay tuned and keep checking back. Update your profiles as needed so we can let you know about our 50th Reunion in 5 years! Some have suggested a trip and someone else stated that we "are a trip"...wonder what that meant??? Anyway, if you were there, it was great to see you and spend some time catching up; if you weren't there, you missed a heck of a good time. Everyone take care, be safe and I hope to see you using this website to keep in touch.
Brenda

I would like to thank everyone who made the effort to come to the class reunion events this past weekend. Your attendance is what makes the organizing efforts worthwhile. We had several people who travelled some distance to be with us, and we greatly appreciate it. It was so much fun to see everyone. THANKS!!!
