Well, I actually had to graduate in 1988 due to severe illness, however, I continued in music and had a very successful senior year in 1988 (All-State Band and many music awards). I later went on to college and majored in music. I went to Spokane Falls and Eastern Washington University to get my Bachelors in Music. Upon graduating from EWU in 1994, I married Tim Sousa, who graduated U-Hi in 1987. I also played in a couple of symphony orchestras in Walla Walla and the Tri Cities for a couple of years. I also traveled around the Northwest and Canada with the EWU wind ensemble and giving various master classes as well as auditioning for several other orchestras. I returned to EWU to get my Masters in Music in late 1997 and graduated in 2000. I joined the Spokane British Brass Band as a 3rd cornet player from 2000-2009 and competed in a couple of national competitions ( also played in the solo contest in tenor horn) One was in 2003 in Little Rock, Arkansas and the other was near Chicago Illinois in 2005. In 2005 I auditioned for the Coeur d'Alene Symphony orchestra and won the 4th Horn position (which means playing some very low notes from time to time. :) ) I have been playing there ever since. In 2015, I rejoined the Spokane British Brass Band as a 2nd Tenor Horn player. In that same year, I started to compose and arrange music for chamber ensembles, brass bands and other ensembles. My music is for sale in sheet music plus under the name Lisa Lenke-Sousa. :)
