ANNOUNCEMENTS

Hi everyone,

We had such great time at our reunion.  I am so sorry that not all of you could be there.  We have put up lots of pictures online for those of you with computers or access to one at a library.  So anyone with friends from our class be sure to spread the word that our pictures are at Picassa or Webshots.  If you don't still have my invitation to my webshots photos, just go to www.webshots.com and do a search for "VVS class of 59 50th reunion"  photos and they will all come up.  I tried that at picassaweb too, but it didn't work.  I will check with Judith to see if there is a way for people who didn't get her invitations to get to the pictures she put up.  By the way, I see that she copywrited pictures that she downloaded from this site to me when she put them on picassa.  I am sorry.  I know that they were not taken by me.  I will try to get that corrected.  The Sherrill Kenwood library has at least 3 computers that patrons can use while they are there.  I bet your library has them too.  If you do, you can get to the pictures.

At our follow-up meeting we discussed future reunions.  At this late date (our advanced years -does anyone feel as old as we are?), we thought that a reunion every 3 years might be a great idea.  We would like you to let us know if that sounds good to you too or if you have any other suggestions.  We thought we might try an annual informal get together also, probably at the Hill.  That room we were in  with just the people would would attend annually shouldn't be too noisy for us.  Again, any suggestions will be gratefully accepted.  We liked the last weekend of July no mater what we end up doing.

We have a "tech committee" that will meet at the Sherrill library on Sept 22 at 1:00 pm to discuss how we are going to get pictures and movies from the reunion out to everyone (including those without computers.)  If you would like to attend the meeting, please do, or if you have suggestions just send them to us.  If you send a message to Peggy, Judy, Judith, or me, they will get to the group.

Ed Evans did such a great job, and we all thank him.  He has a request from you.  If anyone took a picture of his booth from behind, he would love you to send it to him by e-mail, or you could even send him a real photo if you want to.  He spent the last year buiding his booth and just for our reunion.  He said he doen't do reunions anymore (except ours).  Such a shame, Ed.

We want to thank Judy and Dick Parker or cleaning up the spider webs.  The pavillion was so nice, as was the weather outside.   Thanks to Jim Newman for a great memorial service.  It was both sad and fun as we remember great times with our friends who are with us no more.

Thanks to Tom Harney for the great name tags.  I was able to enlarge some of my photos enough to read them when I labeled the people I got pictures of on Saturday.  I wish I had rememberd my camera on Friday night too, 'cause some people weren't there on Saturday.

I am sure there was more I was supposed to tell you, but I can't find my notes right now, and I wanted to get at least this much out before I forgot everything.  I will send another message as soon as I find the notes.

1:  I am unable to upload pictures to your personal profile pages.  Please just upload them yourselves as you wish.  You can only upload one picture at a time also.

2.  Please keep your profiles up to date.  If you e-mail address changes please send your new e-mail address to me so that I can update it on your personal information page.

3  Your e-mail address doesn't have to be public for anyone to send you e--mail.  At the bottom of each profile is a box for sending a message to the person whose page it is.  For instance, if I want to send an e-mail to Judy Parker, I click on her profile and write my message in the bottom of her page.  It will go only to Judy, and cannot be read by anyone else.

4.  The message board will be a great place to post messages and information that you want to share with anyone/everyone.

5.  We will keep this site open for at least the next year.

enjoy!!!!

Karen

Hi again all y'all.  I found out today that Judith Madden-Sturges can download or uplload pctures to other people's profiles.  So if you can't figure it out yourself, send a photo or two to Judith and ask her sweetly if she will do it for you. Send it to jmaddensturges@att.net

Karen

Judith Madden Madden-Sturges is helping with the personal histories for the class directory.  She wrote that:

"I can send a word document Personal History form to anyone with an email address - and am digitizing everyone's hand written forms for our booklet. This means anyone willing to fill it out even if they cannot come can be added at the last minute.

Also I can scan in any photos at the last minute or afterwards from the reunion itself and email the results or mail a CD for nonemailers."

Thanks again, Judith.
