Steven Ray (Steve) Postier

Lavanna and Jan- Here is what has happened to all of our classmates:

Johnnie was abducted by a 'Droid' from the computer game that he plays and was transported to the planet 'Zyrcon 23'.

Rhea and Rodger were swept away in a violet flood down the Mississippi River.

Judy and Dean bought a 800,000 acre 'farm' in Wyoming and were last seen riding off into the sunset to check fences. They are expected to return sometime in 2013.

Gene Kidd is busy running for Public Office in Texas.

Bruce Evans is playing 'Putt-Putt' with his young, good-looking wife.

Mary Ann was abducted by a strange man posing to be a real estate agent.

Carla died of 'heat stroke' shopping in Canton.

Tooter was run over by a 'side boom' driven by an unhappy employee.

Bill and Chuck are both doing time after being convicted of 83 misdemeanors all committed before they were 16 by the 'Hanging Judge' Denney.

Wayne is now CEO of 'Corporate America' and is busy 'bilking' billions of dollars from his customers and employees.

All the rest of us don't have a life and spend too much time on our computers.

Rhea Joyce Freeman (Weaver)

Hi all!
I loved Steve's rendition of the activities of our classmates! You do have a bit of wit going there!
We survived the floods (although part of our driveway washed away)and now have developed heat stroke due to triple digit temps! Too hot to go boating, shopping or walking. I'm sure it's too hot to ride a horse so what are y'all doin' in Montana?

06/25/09 11:38 PM #754

Paul Ray Wever

Rhea - Wow and the humidity must be curling your hair too... we're supposed have a bit of a heat wave here in San Francisco this weekend.... might get up to 75 or 80....

Here in MT we are finally shedding our coats. No kidding, we were wearing jackets less than 2 wks ago. Well I really still am wearing a jacket or long sleeves--the mosquitoes are out and when I say out I mean swarming. When we go out into the yard before we come in we run our hands down our pant legs and squash as many of the little buggers we can before coming into the house. The temp was in the 90's yesterday but a cold front came thru today so it's 80ish. We had good moisture but now everything is drying up and no rain in the forecast. We have dry heat so believe me my hair doesn't frizz, in fact my hair looks good it's my skin that suffers. I tell everyone that in OK your hair falls down onto your face, but your skin is plump and you look OH so much younger. We are off to another couple of rodeos this wkend, our main source of entertainment. We get to watch Brad our youngest and niece Justinn. Dick is frying the chicken tomorrow and I'm doing the other stuff so we will have a picnic on Sunday with lots of our friends, it will be a fun day. Wish you all could join us. Am so looking forward to July.

HEY EVERYONE- CHECK OUT MY PROFILE I GOT SOME RECENT PICTURES OF MY GRANDKIDS. MY YOUNGEST SON JUST SENT THEM TO ME ON THE PC. HE TOOK THEM WITH HIS CELL PHONE CAMERA. HE JUST GOT BACK FROM VISITING HIS BROTHER IN PHX.

06/27/09 07:31 PM #757

Paul Ray Wever

Jan - do you go to the Will Rogers Rodeo?

06/29/09 12:31 AM #758

Janis Ann (Jan) Dirickson (Marshall)

Paul, I haven't been to the WR rodeo in 37 yrs. It never worked out to get the family here in Aug. my northern family hates the OK heat and humidity. We go to lots of rodeos here though, probably every weekend or pretty close to it. I finally figured out it was easier to go along with the guys than try to get them to a musical.

06/29/09 11:25 AM #759

Paul Ray Wever

Jan - you should tell your family that heat and humidity builds character.... look how good you turned out.

Mary Ann Johnson (Null)

I am back from a trip to California and haven't had time to catch up on any recent news. I haven't been able to get online from my home computer for awhile and will have to have someone help me figure it out. I'm using my daughter's computer. But I am back, so Steve will have to be careful what he writes! I didn't write about how long I would be out of town, because I was uncomfortable with the thought of Bill or Wayne knowing my house was un-attended for awhile. You know how they are.....

06/29/09 09:30 PM #761

Paul Ray Wever

Mary Ann - Welcome back. As long as you didn't have any fishing gear in the house you were probably safe....

All-I did not die in Canton...but I thought I was going to die in Tulsa! It was so hot! Bill and his family and a few friends play a yearly golf marathon every June. They rotate between Dallas, Tulsa and Kansas City. They play 36 holes a day and go to five different courses in three days! The girls usually go shopping. We were so hot that did not sound good this year...so we went to the Oklahoma Aquarium in Jenks. It was neat! My grandson really enjoyed it. Then we went to my sister-in-laws and hung out in the pool! It was the only way to stay cool.

Gene-did you do the Crepe Myrtle Tour in McKinney this weekend? If we hadn't been gone I would have loved to come over! McKinney is such a beautiful town!

Jan-I have not been to a Rodeo in years! We went to the Mesquite Rodeo a few times when we first moved down to Texas. Donnie and Neal Gay use to run it but they recently sold it to the Hicks family. The Hicks family also owns the Dallas Stars! We plan on taking Bennett sometime in Sept. when it is a little cooler! He loves to watch the Bull Riding on TV.

Paul- You sound like my aunt and uncle in Seattle! They think a heat wave is 70! They do not have air conditioning in their house. When we go visit we are so hot! They came to Dallas last summer when it was 105 and thought they were going to die! They did not want to go anywhere or see anything so we stayed home and did geneology research.

Lavanna-Hailey and Tyler are cute! I think she looks like you!

Bruce-How was your trip? I could never figure out how to follow you guys on twitter!

Mary Ann- Did you have a good time? I don't blame you not wanting to let the guys know you were gone! I think we may need to hire security at the reunion to keep an eye on them! Don't keep any valuables in your cars! Steve and Bruce you will need to lock up your golf clubs!!!

Lavanna M. Hawkins (Morgan)

THANKS CARLA, I'VE HAD SEVERAL FRIENDS TELL ME THAT HAILEY LOOKS LIKE HER GRANDMA. WHEN SHE WAS YOUNGER I COULD SEE THE RESEMBLANCE BUT NOW WITH HER GLASSES SHE REALLY DOES.I WISH I COULD HAVE WENT ON THE TRIP WITH MY SON TO SEE THEM. IT'S REALLY HARD WITH THEM BEING SO FAR AWAY. CHERISH YOUR GRANDKIDS WHILE THERE CLOSE BY AND ALWAYS REMEMBER LIFE HAS A WAY OF CHANGEING THINGS.

Carla - Bless your heart! I just now am catching up on the forum and read of your first week of "vacation"! The years of caring for parents can be so very difficult. I will say I have never heard of anyone being in ER for less than 4 hours, but that was ridiculous. I think teachers must have longer summers in Oklahoma. I think we go back on August 13th. We may work less, but I think we get paid less too.
Rhea - I didn't think it ever got that hot up there. I missed the heat wave here, as I was out of town.
Jan - When my son in law moved here, from Montana - he had a huge adjustment and not just the weather. His parents visited and were taken to Osage Hills State Park. They are very good people and thought the park was beautiful, except for all the trees! (That's the reason I think it's pretty)! Jeff also could not get over a newspaper article he read here, about a car wreck. The car was totaled and (according to the report) a tree received $200.00 in damages! He could not believe we recorded damages to a tree in the news!
I just rechecked new pics - LaVanna - Your grandchildren are precious and I'm sure you must miss them.
Rhea!- now that's what I think horses should look like. You sit pretty good in the saddle too! Steve - Life has been good to you!
I do finally have my house up for sale. The realtor said, it show's very nicely (yeah!), but I think you will have to replace the upstairs bathroom floor (Oh!). She thinks it feels soft in an area, possibly a leak around the potty. I didn't want to ever deal with repairmen again, but here we go.
Paul - I got to see the Grand Canyon, National Parks in Southern California and went on up to Northen California. I have never actually seen the country and I really enjoyed it. I hope to get to travel the coastal highway sometime. I have flown into the LA area before and also San Francisco, which is beautiful. Is the weather always so pleasant there?

07/01/09 11:13 AM #766

Paul Ray Wever

Mary Ann - Pleasant weather depends on what you're used to. For someone who has become acclimatized to the local weather, pleasant is when it is in the upper 60's, lower 70's. Cold is when it is in the low 50's and hot is when it is 85 or above. Our raining season starts in November and ends in May and we get almost no rain once it ends. And thunder storms are very rare. Since we get a sea breeze in the afternoon, if you live anywhere near the coast, you don't have or need an air conditioner (even the most modern apartment buildings don't have it).

I'm glad you saw the Grand Canyon. I was there about 3 years ago and the temp was triple digits, but it was worth it. The Northern California national parks are incredible. Yosemite is one of the most spectacular parks you'll ever see. If you plan to do the coastal highway, you need to budget your time. There are long stretches where the speed limit is 30 mph because of the curves. It can take 3 hours to drive from Hearst Castle to Monterey.

Mary Ann Johnson (Null)

Paul - I did get to see Yosemite - it was awesome and so "user friendly" I also got to see the giant Redwoods -some 2000 years old! It is mind boggling! I went with my oldest daughter and her husband (and it was his idea to take me)! Their children were spending time with the other grandparents in Montana - but now, they want to take the kids next year.

Mary Ann - Gee, you covered a lot of ground in two weeks. Sounds like you need a vacation.
