Bruce Evans

Recently, after rereading Steve's golfing book and practicing with Ernest, I ventured to Tulsa under the impression of my being close by. My daughter Viviana and I were in Okemah at the Woody Guthrie Folk Festival, I saw this as my chance to pounce. Steve and I played golf at his home Muny, LaFortune GC. As you all know, Steve is a big time golf caddy now, and talks about Augusta and Pebble all the time. Well, I will have you know Stevo had an off day. I showed him his own City.

OK OK OK, I know he had that "Episode" and all. And, of course, he and Susan are the greatest hosts anyone could ask for but I WON, I WON, I WON!!!!!! He even commented on my Short Game having improved. You hear that Carla? Hey, coming from a big time caddy that's something. I hope Tatter Bug reads this and sees his chance......I mean his opportunity to reconnect with Steve.

No, in all seriousness, Steve and Susan are the best and we had the best of times. Sorry the Reunion didn't work out this year and I hope to see everyone at our next gathering. Maybe we could have a golf tournament over at LaFortune GC.

ALL- I MADE IT BACK HOME! I GOT IN SAT. EVENING THE 14TH. IT WAS SO HOT IN OKLA. AND MUGGY BUT I WASN'T IN IT MUCH I WAS INSIDE ALMOST 24-7 TAKING CARE OF MY SISTER. IT WAS A VERY PHYSICAL AND EMOTIONAL DRAINING VISIT. SHE HAS A DETERIATING DISC AND WAS IN ALOT OF PAIN ALL THE TIME. SHE FRACTURED ANOTHER VERTABRAE WHILE I WAS THERE. I HAD TO KEEP AN EAR OPEN ALL NIGHT FOR HER. SHE WORE DIAPERS AND COULD NOT WALK AT ALL SO IT WAS ALOT OF WORK AND MORE THEN I EVER EXPECTED. IT  WAS SO HEART WRENCHING TO SEE HER IN THAT SHAPE. MY SIS HAD ALWAYS BEEN SO STRONG AND HERE SHE WAS PRACTICALLY AN INVALID. I APPRECIATE ALL THOSE WHO PRAYED FOR ME IT WAS FELT AND I FOUND OUT ONE THING THAT I AM NOT A CARE TAKER. I WANTED TO DO NOTHING BUT COME HOME. I STILL GET DISORIENTED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT I HAVE TO WAKE UP SOME TO REALIZE WHERE I AM AT BEFORE I GO TO THE BATHROOM. I SAW ALOT OF FAMILY AND A FRIEND I HADN'T SEEN IN 40 YEARS THAT WAS REALLY NEAT! I TOOK A BUNCH OF PICTURES WHILE I WAS THERE I'LL PUT A FEW ON MY PROFILE FOR YOU. I THINK YOU WILL BE ABLE TO TELL WHO MY OLDER SISTER IS. SO GLAD TO BE BACK!

Steve...How did you like the story ending on Friday????  I think we could write for the YR show!!!!  I knew he wasn't dead!  He is one of my favorite characters!

All be watching for my son Clay in an episode of "Chase" on Monday evenings!  He shot an episode in Fort Worth a month ago and it is to air sometime in September or early October!  It premiers this Monday!  He also just finished a movie shot in Jefferson and Marshall Texas called: Uncertain Texas.  We do not know when it will be released.  I will try to keep you posted.

Oldest grandson just played his first flag football game and he is bitten by the football bug!!!  He was the only one on his team who got flags!!!  He also scored a touchdown!  Daddy and papa were in their element cheering him on!!  He plays in the 5 year old group!

He is also going to kindergarten and loves it!!!  He goes to my school so I am blessed to see him everyday!

I'm feeling really bummed today.   For the first time in my life I will not be able to watch my favorite soap, "AS THE WORLD TURNS."  It ended a run of 54 years last Friday.  When something has been a part of your entire life its really hard to just let go of it!

Judy...I so agree with how you feel about your show! Do you remember Dark Shadows? As The World Turns was interrupted when Kennedy was shot!

09/20/10 11:37 PM #1438

Judith Ann Postier

Carla - I'm so glad you understand why I am bummed out!    My Mother was watching ATWT when it was interrupted and she called the Ironside School to tell us.  I was in the 7th grade and I answered the phone.  The school phone was located in a small hall that connected the two class rooms together.  I was so shocked,  I just opened the door and blurted out to our classroom that President Kennedy had been shot.  My Daddy was a central office repairman at SW Bell and he called Mother to see what had happened because the office just went crazy with calls being made.  (Everytime a phone number was dialed each individual number clicked into its respective slot). So you can only imagine how hundreds of calls being dialed sounded.   And yes, I remember Dark Shadows too.

All-
Our son Clay Yocum will be on NBC's Chase tomorrow night! (Monday, Sept. 27) Hope you can watch!

Judith Ann Postier

Carla- I watched "Chase" last nite.  I enjoyed it, it kept me hooked cause I wanted to know how it ended.  You didn't say Clay was going to die!  He did a great job playing his part.  The show reminded me of Chuck Norris' show "Walker Texas Ranger" that was on a few years back.  Dean's cousin and her husbasnd wrote several of the episodes.  They got to go on location and meet all the actors and really enjoyed that opportunity.  They live in Florida and are CPA's, but they just enjoyed writing scripts for the show.

Janis Ann (Jan) Dirickson (Marshall)

Carla, I've been watching Chase ever since you told us about your son, but for some reason I can't figure out what character he played. I watched so close but still am confused. How did I miss him? Jan

09/30/10 12:32 PM #1442

Carla Ray Williams (Yocum)

Jan-He was the guy who came out of the white house and confronted Lobo.  He had the bronco that once belonged to Lobo.  Lobo covered his body with a Texas flag!  Clay does not tell us much about his parts...he doesn't want to spoil it for us!!  I hate it when he gets killed!  Even tho it is not real it just seems to real for me!  So he really keeps that kind of information from me!  He has been in several plays where is character dies or gets shot or gets sent to prison!  (he is a really sweet, law abiding son so I don't like those kinds of parts).  Many of the scenes he sot were cut out for time purposes.  He had a motorcycle scene where he rode it to the car lot and traded for the Bronco but it was cut.  He filmed for two days.  The makeup artist painted the tatoo on!  It took her four hours!

Judy-We never missed and episode of Texas Walker!  Clay did a scene for one of the episodes but he was really young!  He loved Chuck Norris!

09/30/10 07:07 PM #1443

Janis Ann (Jan) Dirickson (Marshall)

Carla, thanks for setting me straight. I know how thrilled  you and Bill must be to watch Clay, and I agree watching some scenes would be hard. Make sure you keep us informed what he'll be on next. I saw Chuck Norris at the NFR in Vegas. He had great seats as you can imagine, well a little guy about 8 cowboy hat and all, walked down to Norris (during the rodeo) to ask for his autograph. I was so pleased to say I saw Chuck put his arm behind the kid to draw him closer and then sign the program. Most aren't so nice. Jan
