JUST FINISHED WRITING MY FIRST NOVEL. ( PEN TO PAPER). DID CORRECTIONS IN PENMANSHIP AND GRAMMAR, AND MADE IT INTO CHAPTERS. IT HAS 76 CHAPTERS. NOW ALL I'VE GOT TO DO IS PUT IT ON MY WEBSITE SO EVERYONE CAN READ IT. IT IS CALLED " GOLDEN LEAVES OF AUTUMN". I HAVE 2 CHAPTERS ALREADY WRITTEN ON MY WEBSITE. IT IS A NOVEL ABOUT THE AMISH FAMILIES, (FICTION). I HAVE READ ABOUT 50 BOOKS ABOUT THE AMISH SO I WANTED TO TRY WRITING ONE. WHEN I GET IT ALL ON MY WEBSITE I'LL LET YOU ALL KNOW.

Chris Lucas who graduated from Vinita with my son Chad died in the Joplin tornado.   There was a special on the Joplin TV station telling about Chris who was the Pizza Hut manager holding the door to kept it from opening when the tornado hit.   He had gotten all his customer's inside the freezer.  The tornado pull him out while he was holding it.   He saved over 15 lives by his action.    The story in on you tube.   Makes one proud to be from Vinita

Johnny such a sad end to a brave young man's life. I'm sure his family is proud of his sacrifice, but at the same time their hearts are broken. May God be with them at this time. And all who the tornado affected.

     We send our deepest sympathy to Ann Chandler Moore in the death of her mother, Mrs. Ruth Chandler Chadwick.

     Mrs. Chadwick passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at the age of 92.

     Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2011, at the First Baptist Church in Vinita.

Hi Classmates,

   As most of you may know, Laramie Wildermuth, son of Larry and Glena Gray Wildermuth was in a single car accident in 2006 that left him paralized from the waist down.  He has had a successful recovery from other injuries and has adjusted quite well.   

   Laramie accompanied by Glena is currently back in Englewood,Colorado at the Swedish Hospital and the Craig Hospital which specializes in spinal cord injuries due to a setback that requires surgery.

   Glena started a blog in 2006 to keep friends and family updated on Laramie's condition and progress. You may go to the blog to read not only the most recent comments but also comments which began in January 2006 four weeks after Laramie's accident.

     Our deepest sympathy to Tricia Fimple VonSchriltz and the extended Fimple Family in the lose of Tricia's brother Richard  A. "Rick" Fimple.

     Rick passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at the age of 61.

     Rosary services will be held Thursday, June 23, 2011 at 6:00 p.m. at the Luginbuel Funeral Home. 

     Funeral Services will be held Friday, June 24, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Vinita.

     May God grant them peace and comfort in their time of sorrow.

HI ALL- SPENT 5 HOURS IN THE ER TUESDAY. AFTER AN XRAY, EKG, 2 BREATHING TREATMENTS AND A CAT SCAN THE DR. DETERMINED I HAVE COPD AND PNEUMONIA. I HAVE DIFFICULTY BREATHING. I HAVE A INHALER NOW AND I WILL PROBABLY BE PUT ON OXYGEN. I AM GOING TO MY DR. NEXT WEEK TO GET EVERYTHING SET UP. ALL I KNOW IS NOW I CAN'T DO ANYTHING WITHOUT BEING OUT OF BREATH. THIS IS SO AGGRAVATING, I HAD MY APT ALL MESSED UP BECAUSE I WAS CHANGING THINGS AROUND BUT AFTER COMING HOME I COULDN'T DO MUCH OF ANYTHING WITHOUT HAVING TO SET DOWN AND REST. MY PASTOR CAME OVER YESTERDAY AND HELPED ME GET THINGS BACK IN ORDER. IT SEEMS LIKE I GOT A NEW APT. NOW, I JUST WISH I HAD A NEW PAIR OF LUNGS. PLEASE PRAY FOPR ME. THANKS

ALL- JUST GOT OUT OF THE HOSPITAL AFTER A 6 DAY STAY. I HAVE A BLOOD CLOT IN MY LUNG. THAT IS WHY I COULDN'T BREATHE. AFTER MORE TESTS THEY FOUND IT. I SPENT THE TIME WITH BLOOD THINNERS RUNNING THROUGH MY VEINS TO KEEP ME FROM GETTING ANYMORE. THE DR. SAID IT WOULD PROBABLY TAKE 3 MONTHS FOR IT TO DISOLVE. IT WAS REALLY SCAREY. IT FELT LIKE AN ELEPHANT WAS SITTING ON MY CHEST. FEELING MUCH BETTER NOW JUST GOT TO WATCH WHAT I EAT AND KEEP GETTING BLOOD TAKEN TO CHECK MY BLOOD LEVELS WITH USING THE BLOOD THINNERS. I THANK GOD THAT I WENT BACK TO THE ER ON SAT. MORNING OR IT COULD HAVE KILLED ME.

THANKS JAN, IT WAS SCAREY, BUT I'M FEELING BETTER EVERYDAY. MY BLOOD LEVELS ARE GOOD AND THE DR. SAID THAT IF THEY STAY THIS WAY I WOULD ONLY HAVE TO BE ON THE BLOOD THINNERS FOR 4 MONTHS INSTEAD OF 9 WHICH HE FIRST PREDICTED. I WENT FOR A LONG WALK BY THE RIVER YESTERDAY AND IT ABOUT KILLED ME BUT THEY SAID I NEED TO STAY ACTIVE SO I DON' GET ANOTHER BLOOD CLOT.

Carla - Have they lured you back in to work yet ?  I stated back today with an " Alpha " inservice - one about REALLY not leaving any child behind ( regardless of their ability).  I think all of our brains have gotten over heated !

All - I'm afraid it's official that I may be "old".  It's not the last birthday.  For the first time EVER, I can't sleep late !  Even when I don't have to get up for work !   Even when I stay up late !  Six AM on the dot.  Oh, I've heard of this - just not a cure for it.   My mother used to get up EVERY day between 5:30 and 6:00.  I am my mother.

MARY ANN- YOU ARE SO FUNNY. I THINK THE OLDER WE GET WE FIND OUT WE ARE LIKE OUR MOTHER'S. WE USED TO SAY I WILL NEVER BE LIKE MY MOTHER AND THEN AN INCIDENT HAPPENS AND WE REALIZE " MY MOTHER USED TO DO THAT OR SAY THAT" IT IS SCAREY. I AM FEELING MUCH BETTER. MY LIFESTYLE JUST GOT A COMPLETE MAKE OVER. NOW I'M EATING HEALTHIER AND WALKING, WALKING, AND MORE WALKING. THEY SAY THAT IF I DON'T STAY ACTIVE I COULD GET ANOTHER BLOOD CLOT AND I SURE DON'T WANT TO GO THROUGH THAT AGAIN. GOT MY PAPERS FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY. MY HOSPITAL BILL ALONE WAS $ 8,000.00 AND THEY SAY I HAVE TO PAY $1,000.00. MY YOUNGEST BOY IS HELPING ME OUT THOUGH. HE TOLD ME NOT TO WORRY ABOUT THE BILLS JUST GET WELL. TALK TO YOU SOON.

Judy - You absolutely amaze me with your memories of Vinita  life.  In case anyone doesn't know there is a Facebook site - You might be from Vinita if......   It has been fun to read all the memories of all ages of Vinitians !

All - Is anyone up for the all school reunion this year ?  I understand that all classes from the 60's are invited and that the class of 61' will be honored.  I think it is this Saturday at 2:00 PM at the high school, with a 60's reunion at Ok. State Bank at 4:00.  Think I will head that way.......

We send our deepest sympathy to Daisy Brown Moorhead and the extended Brown family in the loss of Daisy's mother, Mrs. Lorene Brown.

Mrs. Brown passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at the age of 83.

Visitation for the Brown family will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the Luginbuel Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 24, 2011 at the First Baptist Church of Vinita.
