Since graduating from VHS, I attended Saint Mary's College in Indiana. I tried out for Notre Dame's marching band and got cut but was then able to try out for the Saint Mary's Women's Choir. While part of this group, we recorded a CD, traveled to the west coast and Midwest touring and travelled to Carnegie Hall twice. I was also a member of the Madrigal Singers which was made up of elite singers from the Womens Choir. I was able to study abroad in Rome, Italy in 2000 for a semester of a lifetime! I travelled through Italy and was able to spend time in Paris and Greece. While there a few friends and I joined a University of Rome choir and sang for Pope John Paul II. I majored in Political Science while in college and graduated in 2002 - not sure what the future would be. I did an internship in Washington DC the summer of 2001 for US Congressman Ray LaHood from Illinois. I met my husband, Jason, in 2000. His sister lived in my hall and fixed us up. Knowing that he would probably not move away from Indiana, I sought a job with his US Congressman within the district - redistricting was currently taking place so the position had not opened. I needed money so I found a job with the county prosecutor's office in the county we reside in. I was a good opportunity to learn about Indiana State Government and to meet more individuals in the area. After our wedding in October 2002, I found a new job as a sales representative for an Anheuser-Bush wholesale company. It was a fun job but when the US Government job was available in March 2003, I had to pursue my ambition. I've now been with the Congressmans Office for 5 years and find that every day is different. In July 2006, Jason and I were blessed with our first child, Madelynn Claire. She is now a year and a half and amazes us every day. Since she has been born, I have started back to school and am working on my Masters in Business Administration. I find time to volunteer on a scholarship committee, serve as a member on the Kosciusko County GOP Women's group, and relieve stress by playing in an indoor volleyball league.
