Greetings fellow classmates. I´ve been a student and teacher of languages and cultures since I left WKHS. Meeting Johan Leckner, Joanne Davis, and Angela from South Africa got me interested in the rest of the world. After immersing myself in the culture South Africa for one year on Rotary Youth Exchange, I made an effort to learn about other languages and cultures. I went on to learn German, Afrikaans, Russian, Swedish, Spanish, French, and Icelandic to varying degrees depending. I was a German teacher in Switzerland for 6 years and had opportunity to see much of Europe. Kudos to Herr Huntoon for giving me my start. Most recently I´ve been a scuba instructor in Iceland. The traveling lifestyle has not been conducive to settling down and forming a family unfortunately. I am envious of many of you for that.
I remember running around the golf course after play practice loaded up on my parents gin out of a box in the garage.
I remember the day the whole football team went "fishing" out by Dumfries. We made aluminium foil steaks in the fire, smoked cigars, drank a lot of beer and then tried to get our 4wd vehicles down a pretty nastily rutted out road. We had some excellent cheeseburgers later at Dumfries.
