We are both grateful recovering addicts and we met in Narcotics Anonymous. (In case you are wondering, I have been drug- and alcohol-free since June 26, 2006.) The program has enabled us to have a very healthy and loving relationship. I'm finally happy and satisfied in my life.
One of my favorite memories is that day when Mr. Varner was sick and no one in the office realized that we didn't have a sub in physics class. By second period, the word was out that each class should take their own attendance and not draw attention to ourselves. I thought we proved that we were responsible that day, because no one did anything terrible or caused any trouble. Mr. Varner thought the opposite. He was mad that we had acted so irresponsibly. Another great memory was the day we were finally allowed to have another pep rally and we really did it up. We made signs saying "89--The King of Years" and all wore Burger King crowns all day. We were united in showing that we were proud of the class of 89.

I love to do activities that allow me to be creative. I make a lot of jewelry using semi-precious stones and I love to write (and read). I am a serious Mafia Wars player, but I play other Facebook games as well. I spend a lot of time hanging out with all of my sons and appreciating my relationships with each of them. (One is in college at Ohio State, one is at Wadsworth Middle School, and one isn't in school yet... each is uniquely interesting and it's fun to see them experience their varying stages of life.) I go to a lot of NA meetings and hang out with other recovering addicts. I'm involved in service in NA, and carry the message of recovery into detox and treatment centers. I have a wonderful relationship with a really great man named Steve, and life is so good.
I lived on and off campus at Kent State University for a couple of years. Then I lived in Kailua, Hawaii on Oahu for a year. After that, I moved to Sneads Ferry, NC for three years. I came back to Wadsworth in 1995.
Yes
I went to college at Kent State.
I'm a Rural Carrier at the Wadsworth Post Office. If you see a mail truck in Wadsworth, I might be driving it. I started delivering mail when I moved back to Ohio in 1995. I worked with my mom for nearly all of a 17-year span, and I am so grateful for that. (She passed away in January of 2012.)
The births of my three sons in 1992, 1998, and 2008; getting clean in 2006; starting my relationship with Steve in 2007. The reason I consider these the high points is because each of these instances represents the beginning of a part of my life that gives me joy to this day.
The farthest was when I lived in Hawaii.
No
We had so much fun. We sure weren't the favorite class of the teachers and administration, but we were proud of to be part of the class of 89. I think we just wanted to be ourselves rather than to conform to what we "supposed" to be.
