Cynthia L. Murphy, 69, of Shelbyville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2016, at Waldron Health and Rehab Center in Waldron.

She was born Dec. 22, 1946, to Walter Eugene Adams and Doris Lowe Adams in Shelbyville. She married William J. Murphy on May 23, 1965, and he preceded her in death in 2012. Survivors include two sons, Walter A. Murphy of Lafayette and John A. Murphy of Shelbyville; sister, Molly Wiseman; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one brother.

Mrs. Murphy was a lifetime resident of the area. She graduated from Waldron High School. She was a factory worker at Williams Industries for 33 years.

Mrs. Murphy was a member of West Street United Methodist Church of Shelbyville. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star of Flat Rock. Cynthia enjoyed singing in the church choir, playing cards and talking about her grandchildren and two boys whom she loved so dearly.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2016, at Glenn E. George & Son Funeral Home, 437 Amos Road, Shelbyville, IN 46176. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Carl Ewick officiating.
