OUCH !!!!!

As much as I really hate to say this, Carolina played better football today than dear ole Clemson - and the scoreboard tells the tale.

We'll get cha next year.

Hey gang, I have been out of the loop for a while until I saw Margaret Dandridge the other night and now I miss everybody again. I never thought I would say this but I am lonely, Christmas and all that. My husband loved Christmas and I always got diamond something! Not why I signed on but as usual, the bearer of bad tidings. Mr Jimmy Powers passed away (cancer). I know you all remember him. Craig Crosby, Nancy's brother, passed away and visitation is tonight at Parker Rhoden for anyone that can come. He was 54. So young. Last but not least, I am a Tiger, my blood bleeds orange and always will but it's a dirty game and someone has to lose. Lets see, what is the record now????? Clemson--65 wins and USC--38 or something like that. Keep working, COCKS, ond day you will catch up. Love ya'll, Danny if you are still out there call me today. Thanks, Pam

I've not been on the site for awhile now but always good to find out what is going on in Walterboro..well, besides what I see and hear on the nightly news..surprising to hear about all the shootings in such a small town..
but I hope all of you are doing good..I am sad when I hear about people we grew up with passing away..makes me appreciate this day I have.
Update on Delane. She has had some rough times lately but I talked to her about a week ago and she seems to be hanging in there. Delane has such a strong will to live. I admire her resilience. Hospice has been helping Delane's mom but I know it is difficult for all of them. I know Delane would love to hear from any of you. Take care for now,
Deborah

Hey Ann, Spurrier sucks, just my feeling though. He had to have help! Must be one of the asst. coaches that is promising, not Spurrier. Oh well its just a game--right?? On to better things. Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas tomorrow. Remember the "old days" when a Christmas parade was really big and we got out of school early? My grandkids laugh at me when I tell stories. Danny, I had a wonderful time the other day. We will have to do that again and investigate more old haunts when we have more time. Again, everyone have great holidays. Hope to talk soon.

It sure is nice that Spiller got to SCORE ANOTHER TOUCHDOWN before the end of his Clemson career. I hope the NFL is ready for such a player. See guys, Clemson can still win a football game. GOOOOOOO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey all--Happy New year. After reading Pam's comment about our old Xmas parades--I found my picture from 1967. Took me an hour to get it to scan in the computer & have it on my desktop. Now where can I send it for all to see. You will immediately recognize all!!

Hey Ann, did you happen to catch the game yesterday? I believe it was Carolina playing UConn!!!! Interesting. Where was THAT team when they played Clemson. Oh well, there is always next year.

Ann, trust me. The keys are not as warm as you think. I'm in Daytona and the low has been 26*. Highs here are not going above 50*. When it gets warmer--my door is always open for guests.

I am posting this for Delane Bessenger(Bivens). Lila Pinckney(Park)sent her the most beautiful flower arrangement this past weekend. Delane personally wants to thank her school buddy from many years ago for the kind gesture and thoughtfulness! Delane appreciates it! Thanks, Lila!

Debbie, Lila has always been the most thoughtful of all of us. I am glad to know she is in Clemson if my granddaughter needs someone immediately. Is Delane doing better? What can I do for her? I pass her mom's house often but it is always on my way to or from work at Edisto and that is 0-dark-30. I should be better about arranging my time, huh. Let me know!

01/12/10 12:58 PM #191

Nancy Crosby (Lee)

Pam, I agree with you...Lila is the most thoughtful classmate we have. I rec'd a message from her over a week ago. It was so wonderful to hear from her. Lord, I'd love to see her. I go by Delane's Mom's house often, have slowed down to turn in the drive, and then thought how inconsiderate could I be(not to call first & ask if it was a good time to visit). I hope she is doing better and thank goodness we have Debbie to keep us informed on her well being. Danny, I hope you are having a wonderful time in Nashville, but I know you can't help but miss the sunny days at Sullivan's Island. I see Margaret from time to time around town, Sissy, Pam, but still miss running into all of my other friends...I wished they still lived in Walterboro. Well, I hope and pray all of you have a wonderful, healthy, happy new year! Nancy

I heard some sad news I wanted to pass on to classmates - Perry DeLoach passed away yesterday. Of course, he was a few years ahead of us in school, but I am sure everyone knew of him. Also, this is Johnnie Doscher Miller's brother-in-law. Let's keep his family in our thoughts and prayers.

I keep 2 of our high school annuals by my desk. When someone is mentioned, I can look them up quick. Then, the memories come flooding back in of days gone by. It has its joys and its sorrows.

Bring out the dancing shoes people...Spring Fling is on!!!!!!

Alta Mae Marvin

For those of you who do not get Walterboro news, Perry Deloach passed away Monday. Visitation was in Greenville last ngiht and the funeral is at the farm later today. A lot of people from Walterboro are heading to the funeral today, Mother and I and one of my sons went to Greenville last night. There must have been 800 to 900 people, I have never seen anything like it. Between the 2 Perry's they know everyone in the state. Johnnie, of course, is Marilyn's sister and all of us who knew Perry will feel this loss. Our thoughts and prayers to Marilyn, Bucky, Johnnie, and their families.

I am so sorry to hear about Perry. My prayers to his family and friends. Another reason the spring fling is important. Too many people passing away too soon!!! See everyone in the spring. Love to all!!!

Pam and Nancy,
Delane's mom's number is 843-893-2271. I'm sure Delane and her mom would love for you to call and Mrs. Bessenger would let you know the best time to come visit...Hospice helps her mom out now but I know how difficult it must be for the caretakers.
It is sad to hear about Perry...I remember him but didn't realize Johnnie's sister married him.
I hope it works out that I can go to the Spring Fling..sounds like fun...and want to have as much fun while my body is still able to! Thanks Pam and Nancy for asking about Delane.

When I first went to Clemson, Perry looked out for me, and I remember even before college when he and Toni Kemp and some others would 'allow' us to go with them on crabbing trips and such on Edisto. A fantastic person with a great heart at an age where including younger folks was not necessarily the 'cool' thing to do. A true Southern Gentleman. Alta Mae - prayers to you and your family - please tell your mom and Bucky hello. - Tommy
