Comments:

I married James Farrell Sept 5, 1969. We have two great children and four sweet grandchildren. I opened my hair salon, Hair Energy in 1989. We lived in Walterboro until 1995 when we moved to Georgia because of my husbands' job. I graduated from Southeastern Technical College, Ga in 1998 then started on a college degree at Brewton Parker. After two years at Brewton Parker we had to move again. Then we moved to the Greenville, SC area. James retired Jan 3, 2008 and we moved back home to Walterboro. I reopened Hair Energy Jan 7, 2008.
We also, make and sell ceramics and art work.

And now the story about using the first name:

The name is a long story just as the name is.

I dropped Cynthia after James and I got married (maiden name 23 letters long didn't fit in any slot, married name 30 letters long will never fit anywhere). This seemed fine with most places at the time (vote of registration still liked Cynthia) but DMV did not care at that time. I moved to Georgia. They told me to pick the three names that I used the most and put it on the form.

Not long ago the Federal government got involved with nicknames and first names because they now want the first name used when you apply for a passport. Then the DMV wanted the first name used but the SS office said wait a minute you have to use Paulette McKinney Farrell, also, because that's the way we had you listed with 40 years of SS. After the SS office finally had it worked out in their system and the DMV had it worked out theirs they gave me the whole name back. Try putting that in a slot!

By the way my name is on the student list twice. I went down the list alphabetically by the "M". I saw the listing for Paulette later. I have to use Cynthia so much I didn't think anything about it. I'll answer to either one now. So sorry about the confusion.

School Story:

Coach Strock had asked me to run the basketball concession stand my senior year when I wasn't playing in the WHS band. James Farrell graduated WHS in 1968. James had driven buses for Coach Strock during high school. Coach Strock introduced us and we have been together since 1969.
