Other than Warren Ohio, the Cincinnati and surrounding area.

Birthplace?

Youngstown Ohio

If you went to elementary school in Howland which school(s) did you attend?

H. C. Mines

How Did You Get Into That?

After high school, which I thoroughly enjoyed [especially the band!!!!], I attended Trumbull Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and obtained my nursing degree in 1975. That has been my profession for my entire adult life. My husband Joe and I wed in 1982 and have 3 lovely daughters and 3 lovely grand daughters with finallly a grandson on the way in May of 2011. Joe's graduate work took us to Cincinnati Ohio to the University of Cincinnati in 1983. The move to the "Big City" was overwhelming at first since I had never been out of Warren Ohio. However, we fell in love with the area and decided to raise our family here. Great place! Alot of facinating culture and beauty. We have lived for the past 18 years in Clermont County, east of the city, in a rural area. Lots of room and nature. I have worked for the most part entirely at the University Hospital of Cincinnati since 1983. Most of my time was spent in acute care in Cardiology, however for the last 3 years I have had a great but challenging job of Lead RN in Plastics, Resonstruction, and Hand Surgery Ambulatory Care. Do have a very nice work schedule now without any weekends and holidays to work!! As much as nursing has been a blessing to me, retirement sure does sound good!

What are your memories of high school(i.e. secret crush, embarrassing moment, funniest thing you did, favorite hang out, favorite teachers)?

Great times! I loved High School. Band especially and all the crazy bus rides to and from games. The song "Salvation Army" sticks in my head for some reason. I have many fond memories of all the times Melinda Cole and I hung out together. FNA, Yearbook staff, Y Teens, powder puff football, and of course band, band, band!!!. I loved Mr. Tewksbary!

Biggest thing you would do differently if you went back to your time at Howland High?

I really can't think of anything that I would do differently. Would have loved to have had the opportunity to go away to college, but my Dad was ill and was in need of being taken care of. High school really was one of the most exciting times of my life. The energy there was awesome.

How do you relax?

Horse back ride, play piano and harp, read cook, and spend time with family and friends.

What would we be surprised to know about you?

Nothing too surprising.

Do you still see/talk to/hang out with any classmates? Who?

Unfortunately no. I do still keep in contact with my nursing class from Trumbull occasionally.

Travel much?

We get away once a year or so.

Favorite vacation spot?

Once a year we try to get away. We love the Carribean and Florida. The Mayan Riveria is great and we have been there a few times along with the Dominican Republic. We go to Florida also, especially love the gulf coast. We also do alot of camping and boating in the fabulous lakes in Kentucky. Dale Hollow, Laurel Lake, and Cumberland are a few of our favorites. The girls have always loved it there.

Favorite food?

Anything except liver and onions!!

Drive a 2-door or 4-door vehicle?

4 Door
