After working many years at Lewis and Clark Community College in Godfrey, Illinois, we retired to Sebring Florida in 2001. Richard taught Chemistry and worked with IT department, and I was in the administrative accounting office. We have one son, Christopher and his wife Jennifer, who live in Alton, Illinois. So far all we have are "grand-dogs". Chris is the IT guy at his company. Jennifer works in a lab by day and is an avid volunteer at the World Bird Sanctuary in St. Louis, Mo. She gets to put on shows with her favorite eagle, Liberty.
We moved in February of 2012 and we did the whole move in our mini-van, with the exception of a fullsize sofa and two love seats. Our new home is in the Sun N Lakes area of Sebring. Very nice. If you get anywhere near us, please feel free to visit.
Summer of 2012 - hubby and I spent 23 days in Europe. What a great trip. We were with a bus group, totalling 40, and got to know each other pretty good in that short period. Most of the the folks were from "Down Under" and were an absolute delight. We toured Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain and France. We saw so many sights -- Amsterdam, the Alps, Rhine River, Venice, Rome, Pisa, Carcasonne, Barcelona, Madrid, Paris -- so many places I had read about in History class! Next year, we're doing the UK for a month or so. Life is good.
Summer of 2013 - we did a bus tour of Great Britain - England, Scotland, Wales, and then went to Dublin where we met Chris and Jennifer. She was running in a half-marathon. We all spent 4-5 days together, then split up to tour Ireland. We die a train/bus tour which was wonderful.
Fall of 2014 - we celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary with a trip to New Zealand and Australia. We were gone about 6 weeks and this was definitely be a trip-of-a-lifetime. Took many photos, not quite a zillion but enough to make a DVD and bore our friends.
