Funeral Held for Wendland Boy Tuesday
Funeral services for accident victim Ronald Adolph Wendland,13, of 411 Second Ave NE, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday with a family service at the Pfaff Chapel at 11 a.m. and public services at the Congregational church at 2 p.m. The Rev. J. W. Stedman officiated, interment was made in Woodville cemetery. Pallbearers were a cousin, Gerald Wood, Craig Manke, Dennis Neste, Dean Youngberg, Michael Olsen and Gary Draheim, all of Waseca.
Ronald Wendland was born in Waseca, May 26, 1945, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Wendland. At the time of his tragic death, he was a student at Waseca Central high school. He was a member of the Pilgrim Fellowship of the Congregational church and a member of the class which will be confirmed May 24. He had been a member of the Boy Scouts.
Surviving are his parents, Roy and Helen Wendland, and six brothers and sisters, Robert, Faribault, Kenneth, Claremont, Mrs. Dave Kahnke (Evelyn) and Richard, Margaret and John, all of Waseca.
People attending the last rites from out of town were Dr. W. C. Melius and Judy, Mr. and Mrs.Edwin Wendland, Mrs. Jane O’Hearn, Minneapolis, Mr. and Mrs. Glen McGonigle, Mrs. C. C. Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Marvin Anderson, Winthrop, Cliff Wallin, Hayward, Wayne Greary, Owatonna, Lars Bondhius, Austin, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Luther, Mankato, Mrs. Art Kelm, Faribault, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Wendland, Claremont.

Ronald Adolph Wendland 1945-1959
Ronald "Ronnie" Wendland was born May 26, 1945 to Roy and Helen Wendland. He had six siblings: Robert, Kenneth, Evelyn, Richard, Margaret, annd John. Ronnie died on May 2, 1959 as a result of a tragic hit and run accident while walking to the Waseca roller rink.
