What are your memories of Murph? Bruce remembers him as a "tough little defensive end" on the football team. Others will remember Jim being on the wrestling team. Did any of you go to country school with him before 7th grade?
Here is a photo Jim put on his Facebook profile. He is pictured with his three children Troy, Shaun and Kelly.

Murph and I were good friends in seventh and eighth grades, and I, too, remember him as a tough and gutsy guy who liked to laugh, as well. His brother, Dan, and my brother, Wayne, were a year ahead of us in school. One day Murph and I got into a tussle with a couple of other students, I don't recall who, but those students reported it to the school, and Dan and Wayne were called to the principal's office instead of their two brothers. Of course, Murph and I thought it was hilarious. Yesterday I shared with Wayne the fact of Murph's death, and we spoke the above incident again. Murph will always be fondly remembered by me for his sense of humor and his willingness to meet challenges head-on. RIP, Murph.

I remember Jim when we had gym class together in junior high, he was a very cool guy, fun to talk too, to me he was a very liked guy, I'm sure he will be missed by many, may he rest in peace.

Jim was a great guy. Had many good times with him in and out of school. We teamed up on defense on the football field and took great pride in preventing our opponents from being able to run to their right. We had a pact that no team could do that. Very good memories of Jim.

Jimmy grew up in Elks park, where the King Melody was located and a few more of us , myself and Ken Samudio , Bonnie and Sandy Carson, Doug Nesty and Polly Nesty, Dave Anderson and Russel Barts.
Well one day Dave jimmy myself and Bonny made a noose and hung it over a tree limb and got Jimmy to stand on a box with the noose around his neck, when the box broke and he hung there till we could get him up and get the noose off his neck, we were all scared but was able to laugh about it years later. If Jimmy was your friend you had a friend forever. I tried to look him up the last time I was in Waseca but could not locate him, sorry to hear of his passing.
