I have been going thru my old scrapbook and other memories to have them scanned in for everyone to see. While doing that I thought of another maybe not so good memory!! Does anyone remember when Neisha blew herself and I up in Chem class our senior year? She shook something she was supposed to stir and POW!!! She actually got hurt pretty bad, with burns on her arm and hand. My saving grace was my varsity jacket although it was ruined. Also, remember the time Neisha put a staple thru her finger if Tardif's class and I thought he was going freak. I never did figure out how she did that. We really did give Tardif a hard time didn't we? KIDS! Love to all-JONI

The only thing about Chem class I remember was my stupid project forcing oil out the ground via steam and Coach being ticked at me for getting Michelle home so late after prom.

Do the kids in Northern Maine still get out of school for harvest, or has that changed since they have harvesters now?

Timothy Hobbs

Most High Schools still get out for harvest break. Some for only a week, some for three.

Allan and I try to go up every other year. It is great to see the town and how everting changes from year to year. Allan being, from CT, loves seeing Washburn and the differences every year. I am very lucky to have found a man who's family is from Maine. He loves the potato fields and tends to jundge my crop production to Maine which makes my plantings more of a challange. Sometimes it sucks royal!!!!!!!!!!!!! Crops 't don't always turn out as planned! Who can predict mother nature?

I haven't been up there in 22 years. WOW. I am looking forward to seeing the old house and the town and all of the changes. I remember during harvest getting up early and going to pick potatoes. With our huge family we had alot of gloves to go thru to find yours. LOL. Thanks Joni, I am trying to find more recent pictures and some of my middle son and then update them.

Mr. Tardiff got a few good hits on us too! Does anyone remember the earthquake and the trick he pulled on us with his skeleton? Was it Neisha who was sitting close to the thing when Mr T made it move?

I was reading thru the posts this morning and got an idea. When I was searching for a pic of me I came across some shots I took of Washburn a few years back. I tought it might be neat for those of you who haven't been back in a while to see them. I took them so I could look back when I get homesick.

Lisa C, we don't own horses yet. We go to stables in Nobleboro and ride there, and work sometimes. It's a beautiful place. We plan on owning soon, definetly after retiring. We're just so busy. Even if we owned now we would have to board them.
Thanks for getting those pics in Merle. Who'd of thought it was so hard for me to get them in. They are great!!
Can I ask you all what might be a bad question but who is Tracy Dahlgren? She is in the yearbook w/o a pic and she is in the calss pic......I just can't place her.

10/07/08 06:53 PM #51

Tammy Cannon (Crabb)

Joni, I don't remember Tracy either. But from one horse fan to another, don't you just love the way spending time with horses melts away the stress? There is no way we could afford full size horses that is one of the reasons we went with the mini's, besides the fact Allan is a bit affraid of the big guys. No riding for me. We have 15 acres so it helps with the expense of having them. We grow our own hay and have grazing areas for them, but with the rainy weather this year we are going to have to buy, ouch! Around here hay is selling for about $6 to $8 a bale. That's a lot of money when you figure we will have to buy at least 200 bales. I have already breached the selling of the baby to Allan. He says there is no way he will sell her. So here we go, farming is not cheap. Regardless, they do help keep the blood pressure down.

Has anyone talked with Cheri-Lynn lately? What about Bobby Goodine? Funny how you can lose touch with people. Charlene, your little girls are so cute.

Joni..Tracy Dahlgren moved from Presque Isle to Washburn during our Senior year I believe. She moved in w/Neil Baker's family & they married shortly after graduation. Tracy's family lived in Shari & Jim Wilson's house before they moved in years & years ago (down the road from where I lived). Love all of the pics! Joni...you still look exactly the same!!
