wow is the distance between us so great that I no longer receive anything? Have we given up? Are we all so busy with life? I will give it one week...if there are no new postings then i will have to call it.

Don't give up Howie!

I never give up. But, it sure isn't as much fun posting my goofy stuff when I don't get a response. I might consider trying to take leave and coming home if everyone gets in and gets something set up.
I have been on a number of planning commitees and have had to set up for several events over the last almost 20 years and I can tell you that one or two people trying to make it happen is almost impossible. If the folks from our class want to make this happen, they are going to have to get involved. I wisah there was more that I could do. But, being on the other side of the planet makes it tough.
I will continue to post as long as folks continue to respond.

Howie

I am heading out for a culture walk shortly. The family and I will be enjoying and learning about walking in Korea...boy that doesn't sound like as much fun as it did when we signed up. I will let you knnow how it goes.

ok, here is what I learned. Koreans walk far and they walk fast. I have got to start reading the information on these things before I sign up. It was a 5k walk through the hills of Pyeonteck. Those hills were steep! The sun decided not to shine and it rained a little. So overall, good experience, tough walk and overall a good time. Why??...because I was with my family.

Wow!  It sure does go a long time without any posts.  Am I the only one that has ANY free time?  I mean I work 12 hours a day 5 days a week and try to spend as much time as I can with my family on the weekends.  Not to mention...I am on the other side of the planet.  At any rate I hope yall are able to get something pulled together.  It has been almost 20 years since I have seen some of you.  I am in great shape and would really like to show off and make fun of people.  I can't do that if there isn't a reunion.

04/28/10 05:28 PM #99

Carla Williams (Sutliff)

Howie,

We will have the reunion just so you can show off your awesomeness (that doesn't look like a word...)  You know, I just ran a 5K.  Maybe by September I can show off my awesomeness too!

04/29/10 05:29 AM #100

Howard Watkins

We will have to be very very careful, we do not want to attempt getting too much Awesomeness into one area...the results could be disasterous.  we might end up having to have two reunions to cover the amount of awesomeness that is all of the members of our class.  Except for Brad ... he sucks!

(Man, I wish more people would get on here and read how funny I am)

Congratulations Howie!!! You have the distinct honor of posting the 100th post on this message forum.  For your accomplishment, I hereby bestow upon you...wait...crap...I don't have anything...oh well, did I say congratulations?

WOW!  Went to my niece's graduation last night at good ole' Southwest High!  Found our class picture!  Reminded how studly I looked!  So studly that my 18 year old said I looked like a dork!  Now I'm old, bald, crippled and fat!  What the hell happened?

05/17/10 03:46 PM #103

Howard Watkins

Scott,

you are not old.  bald is sexy.  you can lose weight, even without exercise.  as for being crippled; as long as you are able to figure a way to manage a poke... you are good to go.

All kids think their parents were dorky...most kids think their parents are currently dorks.

everyone else,

Kick in and give Carla a hand, everyone wants a party, noone wants to blow up a balloon.  I referrence the book "THE LITTLE RED HEN"

Where is Julie??  haven't heard from her in a while.  Sorry Carla I would more than love to help, but I just had a baby March 1st and I'm kinda on the busy side.  He is sooooo sweet, we were so blessed to finally have a boy after three girls!!  His Name is Kanaan Daley Madison and when life slows down a bit, I will post some new picts on my profile.

Holy Geez!  I knew some people would go out of their way to not have to help.  But, to go through an entire pregnancy and then give birth; just to avoid being on a committee...that is a new one on me.  Well, you know not really, I have heard of women in the military getting pregnant to avoid deploying.

At anyrate, congrats Lisa.  I am happy for you.

to all others, I guess the bar is set.  Unless you have given birth within the last 4 months, you should be helping in some way.  Make a phone call or send an e-mail or something to help out.

Guys, a little secret I have learned in the military...if you get stuck on a committee that you have no desire to help with...just keep making really stupid suggestions.  after a while they don't ask you for anything.  (don't tell the girls or you wont be able to get away with it)

Anyway, life in Korea is great.  In a way it is like being in a country with only women.  I go off base into the local community and they all talk and talk, really fast and I can't understand anything they are saying.

Carla, Krisi and all those involved you are doing a great job planning the reunion.  Sounds like we will have a good time.  Thanks for your work.

I can't believe it...someone new posted a message!  It is a record.  I will make a deal with the entire class.  If everyone that has created a profile posts a message between now and Saturday morning (my time, so Friday night for yall) I will send a check for $200 to help cover costs.  Who knows, if yall can get everyone to participate I may even show up.  Now, some of you will see that and say, "who cares", some will say "cool" and some will say, "why is he threatening us?"  at anyrate, the deal is set.  Don't worry about the money on my end, I can sell my son on the blackmarket and more than cover it.  He is now a teenager and as some of you know, nobody wants one of those in their house.  Besides the child labor laws are almost nonexistant in this country.

It is now up to yall.

Howie

Hey Howard don't get too excited at your age you could have a heart attack you know!  I bet you would like to come back to the states for awhile from the sounds of the news your neighbor to the north doesn't play well with others.

Come on now, Ole Uncle Kim is just a grumpy feller.  He is kind of like farting at our age...mostly a lot of noise, but maybe, just maybe there could be a small suprise.

Hehehe, I think that was a sneaky way of calling Kim a turd...gotta agree Howie.  Personally, I think it's time we flushed him!

Hi everyone!  I'm looking forward to the reunion in September!  Hope you are having a great summer.  Krisi

Hey Howard, what do you think you could get for my boys over there. They are good strong fellas, but don't seem to like to work. Maybe you could just trade them for a couple who will let me be lazy while they do the yard work.

Christy Vanzandt (Hermansen)

Thanks Krisi and Carla for all your hard work!! I will be at the reunion.  Where do you want the money sent.  When did the invitations go out?  I talked to a few people at the ballgame tonight who haven't received them yet?  No biggy they just said they saw on the sight that they were sent out and they hadn't received theirs???  I think they wanted just to make sure you all had their address.

I did leave a message for Johnny Jones on facebook so I will relay the information if he gets back to me--again--thanks for all you are doing!!!!

06/09/10 10:21 AM #114

Carla Williams (Sutliff)

I mailed them yesterday.  I meant to get them done last week, but had to work overtime and didn't have a chance to get them done sooner.  You should be getting them any day.  I don't have addresses for everyone so I had to send emails and waiting for responses on a few.

Carla Williams (Sutliff)

Also, I've been updating the home page with new developments as they come up.  I have Krisi's address listed for where the payment should be mailed.  I've also been sending emails on Facebook and through the system.  Is anyone getting them?  Maybe it's "operator" error?

Carla--just got the invite today in the mail I really do appreciate all you and Krisi are doing.  Yes, I have been getting all your posts on Facebook.  Thanks again!!!!!
