Howard passed away in either 1969 or 1970 after being hit by a train while crossing railroad tracks one night near First and Underwood Streets, NW. He isn't in the 1970 year book so maybe he passed in 1969.
I lived around the corner from Howard for about 5 years before he passed. We went to Rabaut Junior High and Coolidge together. He had a great personality; a big, beautiful smile and made friends easily. He was the peace maker among our group of cohorts. He is one of my best memories whenever I drive through the old neighborhood.
