In Memory

Philomena Ensero (Camputaro) - Class Of 1970

Philomena passed away on August 10, 2015 at the age of 62 in New Haven, CT after suffering from early onset of Alzheimer's Disease for the past 10 years.  Philomena graduated from SCSU where she earned her RN degree and worked at Yale New Haven Hospital for over 20 years.  She also taught nursing skills to future LPS's and CNA's at  New England Technical Institute.   Some of her former students became her caregivers after she became ill.

I am very sad to hear that Philomena has passed. I hope she is in a better place now. In the 7th grade, she became my first girlfriend and we danced together at Friday night school dances at Mary Abbott. She attended my bar mitzvah as well. But in high school, college and even Yale-New Haven we did not remain friends although I did recognize her. I was sad to hear at the 40th Wilby class reunion that she was suffering with Alzheimer's.  She and her sister Barbara were significant in my early school days. I remember both fondly but Philomena was a special person to me.
