Richard passed away on March 18, 2013 at the age of 78 in Southington, CT.  

While at Wilby he was a member of the 1953 basketball team that won the Class A state championship.   He played for the Waterbury Bombers fast pitch team. 

He taught at Kaynor Tech and coached baseball and basketball for 17 years. 

He worked for two years with the U.S. Department of Labor as an educational consultant to Saudi Arabia.  

He was elected to the Connecticut Fast Pitch Hall of Fame in 1992.  

He was a long time member of the Waterbury Lakewood Social Club and served as its president for many years.
