William passed away on November 27, 2010 at the age of 84 in Waterbury, CT.  He was the widower of Lorrane (McNerney) Knuchel. 

He was a member of the Waterbury Police Department serving for 29 years.  William was also a co-founder of the Waterbury Police Athletic League serving as director for 15 years.  He was also a member of the Waterbury Lodge of Elks No. 265
