Edward passed away on February 20, 2010 at the age of 98 in Miami Shores, Florida.  He was preceded in death by his wife Janice Strobel Salvatore.   He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Knight, Diane Herron and grandchildren.

He was a talented athlete who served as captain of the baseball, football, and basketball teams at Wilby and led the Wildcats to an onofficial state football champoinship.  He was widely known as one of the finest athletes that Wilby every had.  He received several college/university scholarship offers and played semi-pro football and minor league baseball for the Chicago Cubs system before a sports injury cut short his professional career.  He served in the US Army, stationed in New Caledonia in the South Pacific  during World War II.  He worked in the airline industry and traveled the world visiting 18 countries.
