Francis passed away on November 9, 2011 in Prospect, CT.   Francis had been employed by the NY Daly News, NY Journal American.   He served numerous years as president of the sterotypers union.

 For many years Francis served as a volunteer in the Prospect Fire Department and had served as chairman for the Prospect Republican Town Committee.  

He had served honorably in the U.S. Navy as a yeoman first class.   Most of his military service was spent in Sitka, Alaska where he contributed to the museum numerous photographs of the military history during WWII and the relationship of the military with the native Alaskan Indians.  These photographs are currently on display.
