Henry Chestone - Class Of 1940

Henry passed away on October 26, 2019 at the age of 100 in Waterbury,CT.   While attending Wilby he was a three sport letterman.   He was a graduate of Post College as a certified real estate agent. 

Henry proudly served in the Army during WWII and was a D-Day survivor as a ground combat anti-aircraft He was an artillery automatic weapons crewman.  He received five battle stars.

Henry worked at Scovills as a toolmaker and was president of SERA for many years   He was employed by the City of Waterbury as City Comptroller for 3 terms, a member of the Board of Finance , Chairman of the Retirement Board of tax review.  He worked at CT Mfg for several years and also worked as an audit officer at the CT Housing Finance Authority for 12 years. 

He coached te Wilson Grammer School baseball team to its first trophy in school history and coached SS Peter and Paul CYO basketball team. He was president of the North End Pals Social and Athletic Club and was a member of the Italian American Club.
