George Frances Goggins - Class Of 1939

George "Francis" Goggins passed away on June 2, 2015 at the age of 93 in Ivins, UT.  

After high school,  George worked at Scovills Mfg.  He served as a Motor Machinist's Mate 1st Class in the Pacific, first as a subchaser in the Aleutians and later in a tank landing ship.  He was present in a support role at the battle of Iwo Jima. 

After the service he moved to California and found work at Capitol Records working in the pressing plant where he worked for 40 years as a maintennce foreman during the heyday of vinyl music.   He was one of the two or three employees left at the Capitol press plant following the delcine of vinyl music production.
