Lilberto "Doc" passed away on October 28, 2015 at the age of 94 in Milford, CT. After graduation he joined the Navy and during WWII was honor man of the company and assigned to Patuxent Naval A.R. Test Center in Maryland and seved as plane captain for the famous Marine Corps fighter pilot, Lt. Col. Marion Carl. He was a graduate of AeroIndustries Technical Institue of Glendale, CA and a graduate of UConn Wartime Accelerated Aircraft Engineering School and mechanical engineering graduate of Bridgeport Engineering Institute. His engineering career lasted 50 years. He joined the Vought Sikorsky Division of United Technologies as a design engineer which lasted 20 years. He was deeply involved with the design and drafting responsibilities with the Chance Vought Aircraft projects the F4U Corsair series, the F5U/F6U/F7U and the Regalus Missile Launcher. Also while at Sikorsky woring directly with Igor Sikorsky, he developed the first agency approved resuce hoist design and instillation. He led the development of the multi-agency mobile classroom, which led to the company operated service school. He has patents on roller blade positioning and filding systems Upon retirement he taught physics at the State Sikorsky Aircraft School for several years.
