Vita passed away on May 16, 2011 at the age of 54 at the Sloan-Kettering Memorial Cancer Center in NY.  

Vita was a graduate of Crosby HS and SCSU where she earned a Bachelor of Science and Master Degree in Italian and Spanish Education. 

Vita taught Italian and Spanish at Wilby and was the Italian Club Moderator.  She was a wonderful friend and colleague and loved by her many students. 

Vita was a member of the UNICO club, The National Italian American Foundation, and the Waterbury Portuguese Sports Club and also an active member of CITA.

The Vita Marcone Memorial Scholarship Fund has been set up at Wilby High School in her memory.
