Holy crap! Who dug up my old bones? The Virginia beach trip was both a highlight and a lowlight, the parts I remember. Does any one remember that old mug shot that we shot for Mrs. Kraft- who all was in that one? I remember that you could see Hancocks wrestling shoes in the bottom of the picture. Then there was Hancock's ugly tan Gremlin. We tried our best to kill that thing, Chris Bone hit a guard rail and almost flipped it. Then there was that time I shouted at some bikers at that Harley Davidson on 59 and Pontiac Lake road... I didn't know that car could go that fast....hey, Zinn, your daughter does look just like you, and you weren't that quiet in school either, just sneaky. There was the bowl of corn on top of my head incident, if you recall...Ah well....

Batty... I seriously cannot remember that incident. What a brat I was. And yeah my daughter takes after me in that respect too. Shy but sneaky.

The Gremlin. DO you guys remember how bad that thing back fired? OMG. I was ready to crawl under the seat.

Yes, I remember the Gremlin. If I remember correctly, I do believe that Scott could make it backfire at will and that he used it to scare people. Am I right?

Well, well, well, John Batty reports in, aye? Thank you for being the very first person to talk to me in my new, scary high school. You were so very nice. I just hated moving in the middle of my junior year from Illinois to Michigan.

You know, speaking of Scott's Gremlin brought up another memory. Cathy Zinn's cruddy POS VW Rabbit. Ran on diesel. That thing was sooooo falling apart. I remember when the horn failed and it would go honkhonkhonkhonkhonk as she turned the steering wheel around corners. Then there was the time that we had so many people crammed into it that Cathy and I practiced something I'll call 'tandem driving'. (2 people in the driver's seat).

aaaah yes. the gremlin. I truly and deeply miss that car. I keep telling Katie that I am going to buy one if I ever find one that hasn't been ravaged by rust. yes, we could make it backfire at will. . . that was one of its best features. . . one of my favorite incidents where said feature was used, I believe Kyriakides was in the car with me. I have no idea where we were going or why, but there was an older woman bent over tending to her yard, bent over, completely oblivious when I was encouraged to make it go BOOM. honestly, I thought she was going to fall over.

John, I do have that picture somewhere around the house. I will have to find it and post it. speaking of pictures, what was I wearing on my face in that picture you posted?it looks like a couple of Lucite sat dishes. wow those glasses were huge. I had forgotten about the bikers by the way... that was hilarious.

Scott Hancock,
I also remember driving around in your Gremlin with Jim MacIsaac. Whatever happened to him? I think he was in love with me at one point and I wasn't very nice about it because I still had a boyfriend from my old school in Illinois. I feel bad about that now. Perhaps I should apologize?
Anyone know where my old friend, Erica Bernard, is these days? We had big plans to one day open up a psychology/counseling center together. Never happened.

Cath that is funny about Jim I was just looking at old photos and saw my sister and him together. they dated for like a year. I don't know what happened after that.

Who wrote something about holding me up in an elevator? What was that all about. I do remember Mr. Spry. I made him so mad at me one day he threw a music stand at me. I was not kind to that man at all....Anyone heard from Jay Dickinson? In Ms. Lapinski's class, I slipped a Reeces wrapper on his desk while he was sleeping. See, she had this rule about not eating in class. She saw the wrapper and just laid into him. Poor guy, he woke up and no idea what was going on.

John, Let's just say you had a bit too much to drink. LOL
I remember we stuffed the empty bottles between the mattresses in the hotel room hoping the maids wouldn't find them and bust us.
Do you remember us wiping out busting up our knees and we ended up at the hospital.Spent the trip home on the bus with a splint and bags of ice.

And Cathi I read in your profile where you said Alison and I were finally nice to you on the VB trip? I honestly don't even remember you :( But I'm sorry if I wasn't nice.

Remember starting to drink...I think I did about $1500 worth of damage to one of the hotel rooms that night too. I think I jumped into the hotel pool with all of my clothes on? Don't remember the elevator, kinda hazy at that point. I just know that when the chaperones were going around and making the list, there was no doubt I was on it! The knee busting I do remember. Weren't we running across the road with the band trophy and fell in the middle of the road? I was sober for that part at least....Not my proudest moments.....

It's so fun to visit this site once or twice a week and see who the new profiles are. Still waiting for a bunch of old buddies to join and I cant find them!

I'm pretty sure that once this site gets indexed by google and yahoo a little better and 2009 starts to get closer we will have a rush of people.

Maybe Chris K can run some BG checks over there at the county office!

In response to John B.
Ahhh Jason Dickinson.... I was just thinking about him the other day, don't know why. Yeah, where did he go? Great guy. Lots of fun. We went skiing together.

Hello everyone! I finally got a quick moment to look at this site. I will write more later, but just wanted to say if somebody has the 11th grade show tape, please destroy all copies!

Jason is out in San Francisco. We hung out in college where I taught him to smoke (hahahaha for 1 night) and we had some pretty great times together. He also helped me out during a particularly troubling time in my life....he was a brother when a guy needed one. He even followed me out to New Jersey ...He's still the same great guy everyone loved in HS!

Hey Batty....you were a real mess, Brother(LOL) You're smile was always a welcomed thing in HS...it was a dangerous smile with a teaspoon of deviance and a pinch of sarcasm, but it gave HS a spicy afterbite. I am glad you are doing well.

Ahhh the HS 'trips'...scary scary scary.

Scott Herriman,
Did you live in NJ?
I lived there for 8 years.

Herriman,

Didn't realize you were watching me that closely in school. Too bad I liked my guys a little more "beefy" like Hancock. Kept me warm at night....Seriously, though, I have never met anyone who could walk onto a stage and dominate while doing whatever he wanted to like you could. It was amazing to watch and share a stage with you. Always cool, man.

It's going to be a long summer since my kid was bored the 1st day as well.

My boys have not been bored very much and they've been out of school for 3 weeks now. I highly recommend getting a Nintendo Wii for the summer. I was always against video games and having my kids just sit there and use their thumbs. But this Wii is terrific. They invite their friends over and all of them are up on their feet and hopping around the family room playing baseball and tennis. It keeps them very active. Then I make them quit and take a pool break. Keep 'em active and they go to bed early!!!!! Oh, and next week is our annual vacation to Orlando. We just love Disney! Can't wait!!!

Hey all...Had to share a cool story. I've been a professional entertainer since I left HS and have entertained for the Detroit area MDA Summer Camp almost every year since then. It's an incredible week for amazing kids every June held at Camp Cavell in Lexington (north of Port Huron)

This year was special...more special than usual. Kelle Ilitch brought the Stanley Cup up. It was amazing. I am a HUGE hockey fan, and it was a dream come true for me to touch the bright silver mug...and more importantly, to see the look of amazement and awe on my friends' faces.

Proving once again that the Red Wings organization is PURE class, it was a great day to be from Michigan....well, excusing our Governor and Detroit's honorable mayor of course, but that's another story isn't it Julia (hehe)

p.s. My girls are bored silly too...just buying time 'til we can go fishing in Canada.

p.p.s. If anyone needs a fun afternoon project with your young kids, I have a really cool diagram for making mini-marshmallow guns out of pvc....fun safe and silly.

p.p.p.s. Or you could just spend $10 in PVC piping (3/4 or 1/2 inch) for differing lengths and a bunch of connectors and let them go crazy with the hose.
