I graduated from The Ohio State University with degrees in Business (MTKG) and Communications. I ran my ass off for four years, participating in track and cross country, which in different ways, were my worst and best jobs during college. During the summers, I took classes at the UW.
After graduation... I managed product launches for Paramount Studios, McDonalds, Genzyme, Amgen and even the Cincinnati Zoo. My last "corporate" position was as a Creative Manager at CUNA MUTUAL. I left in 2005 to train for Ironman and await the birth of our son Mike.
I started a creative business in 2004 which I do part- to full-time now. I have four people working with me. Most projects are branding, identity development, marketing and communication plans for large and small businesses.
I married my husband, Steve, in 2002. Steve is the co-founder of Raven Software, a development studio for Activision-Blizzard, the largest gaming company in the world. Have you ever heard of Soldier of Fortune, Star Wars - Jedi Outcast, World of Warcraft, Guitar Hero or Call of Duty? Unfortunately, I haven't even played one of those games!
Our son, Mike, was born in May, 2006. Aside from being picked as one of America's cutest babies, by Us Magazine last year (a nod that we'll pull when needed for parental blackmail), looks can be deceiving. My patience button has been in lock down mode since he turned 2. On a fun note, we've almost earned our own viewing bench at Morey's airport. It's funny how you can appreciate the smaller things in life, like a windsock or a good runway landing, through the eyes of a child.
Currently, I am training for Twin Cities Marathon (just 8 months after having some radical hip surgery) and I'm coaching cross country with Tom Slater at WHS. So, if you see me around town, please don't blast the horn like Dan McGowan does.
Yes, I'm pretty much exhausted on a daily basis.
