Over a century ago, L’Unione Italiana was founded by a small visionary group who realized that by uniting together, the Italian community of Tampa could overcome many of the social and economic challenges that confronted those “turn-of-the-century” immigrants from Italy. From those visions came the beautiful building we now know as the Italian club, which hosts several weddings, corporate functions, non-profit galas, birthdays and celebrations throughout the year all within the historic district of Tampa Bay.
Crush Happy Hour
Crush Happy Hour is a bi weekly family friendly event located in the cantina of the Italian Club. Guest Chefs make a stunning buffet of Italian cuisine for just $13. Live entertainment accompanied with a cash bar adds to great time. Crush Happy hour is from 5 – 10pm.
SANT’ YAGO KNIGHT PARADE - Every February, thousands of costumed participants, special celebrity guests, and dozens of illuminated floats and marching bands roll down Seventh Avenue in historic Ybor City, tossing scores of beads to the tens of thousands of revelers and families that line the street.
The Knight Parade, presented by MOR-TV, is a free, family-friendly event. We encourage attendees to arrive early to avoid traffic and grab dinner at one of the many wonderful restaurants in Ybor City. Then claim your spot along the parade route. If you’d like to ensure a better view of the parade, you can purchase bleacher seats online at knightparade.com .
Tour Ybor City via Street Car
Great area to take a stroll through. Easily get there from downtown Tampa on the trolley. Walk through this old town and admire the architecture, stop in a cigar shop and watch them be hand rolled. Don't miss the Columbia restaurant and drop in to the visitor center to learn about the history of the area and find some nice souvenirs.
