Wow 30 years already!!
Well if you are one of my friends on Facebook you know pretty much know my whole story!! If not I have moved to Utah to be with the man who i knew 9 years ago and we never connected when he was in SD. So moved to Magna Utah a suburb of Salt Lake City. Im not a big city girl that married a wonderful man who i am very happy with.
I don't do much drama unless i create my own!! I live life to the fullest and try to make sure i take advantage of life!! I recently had gastric bypass surgery and have lost over a 100 pounds. So by next year at 30 year reunion i will be a whole different looking person.
I still love to laugh and make others laugh!! So still a clown in my own way!!!
I have connected with lots of classmates and other people who attended WHS.
I now have a 24 yr old son who works at Ohiya Casino in Niobrara and a 17 year old son who is a Junior in High School In Tyndall SD. My adopted mom has guardianship of my 17 year old and he is doing awesome!! They came out to visit over the summer for 2 weeks when i got married(renewed vows).
Wanna know more FB me!! :)
Not sure where to start as it was a long road to where I am now. I lived in Nebraska most of my life til 2002. I resided in Norfolk working through the years at various jobs, manager at movie theater, telemarketer, and psych tech.
In 2002 I moved to Springfield SD to change life and move away from a troubled area. It was right before the bank shootings that I moved. Once up in South Dakota I found my calling working with troubled teens. I started as a youth counselor at Springfield Academy. I found that even though I got into some hot water way back when it was nothing compared to what some of these kids did. I love being able to try to help them think about what they need to change to become a active member of society. That doesn't work for all of them and they end up back in the system. 75 percent of our population is Native American and my connections with the culture has helped me work with these kids. In December of 2003 I was able to accept a position with the education department at the Academy.
Since then I work teacher hours and love it. It is good for my two boys and I. I since have become the on site computer guru. I am currently going to college to get my bachelors in Information Technology.
I'm in my second year with a 3.49 GPA and have been on the Presidents list 4 times since I started. I hope to become a computer teacher at the Academy and be able to provide more tech support. We use 60 laptops every day and someone needs to keep them up and running. I have been doing this for 5 years. I love my job!
Now onto personal life. I was always pretty non existant in that area. I married in 1993 to my husband Duane. I had one child with him named Travis Dean. In 2000, Duane and I divorced. After Duane I became involved with Kevin Ellis and gave birth to a son , Cetan Dakota in June of 2001. Cetan is part Lakota Sioux and I support his heritage. His father isnt a figure in his life but his grandma and aunts are a major figure in our lives and help me raise my boys.
The single mom business is tuff at times and I have help here from my little guys family here. I love living in a small town and South Dakota is beautiful country. Going to school, working full time and raising 2 growing boys is what I do every day and I love it. I wouldn't trade much right now in life for anything.
I have ran into a few classmates. Tim Loberg is one, ran into him at the welcoming home of my brothers guard unit. Hi Tim! I also have contact with John, Gina and Beth online on Tagged and Myspace. I'm on a computer all day at work and at home doing school work, as now my life is centered around technology. So come look me up and add me!
I have added a link to my blog above. I have our last years Christmas letter there that I sent out. This is a work in progress and let's you see a little more of my life.
