i met ray my freshman year, we were friends from the beginning. we always spoke to each other in school. here, i lived out on cross creek 2 doors from one of his relatives. funny thing is, i went to the marines fresh outta high school in april 1987 and came to find out ray kemp was in the same company as me in the platoon right before mine, i was 3049 and he was 3048. after the corps, that was the last i heard from him. i recently found out he lived in augusta, ga....when i lived in SC, i was only an hour away from him in a newberry, sc and didn't know it. sorry to hear of his passing. his friendship meant alot to me because we all knew ray kemp was a good guy. no question a bout it.
