Larry was a close friend of mine and we had many, many good times together.  We both went to WSU our first year of college and then transferred to the UW in our second year.  We both pledged the same fraternity and at times, lived together off-campus with Jeff Rhodes, Mick Williamson, Ed Kellogg and Bart Clennon.   Larry was a bright person, one who could do what he wanted when he put his mind to it.  He was shy, but once he got to know you, would open up and display his great sense of humor.  We spent about a million hours playing basketball together on the DKE court behind the frat house.  There were a lot of Wenatchee guys in house, including, Jeff, Bart, Steve Clarke, Larry and myself.  We would challenge the other guys to "Wenatchee against the World" games, and Larry was one of our better players, along with Bart, who was the master of ball handling and trick shots.  Larry could have been a good player in high school, but i think he liked half-court cause you didn't have to run as much.

As the years went by, Larry married and had a family, but developed a drinking problem that led to his early departure.  Those of us who were close to Larry miss him a lot.

Larry and I spent alot of time together after college.  We were both in the apartment rental business in Wenatchee at that time.  We also played in many doubles handball tournaments at the YMCA and Wenatchee Elks Club.  We were city champs a couple of years.  He was a great friend and , like Joe said, all his friends miss him.
