My life since high school...
I am so happy to have three wonderful children.
It's a blessing to be a wife and mother.
Becky was married in 2000 to John Van Beek.
They had four children, Zachary, McKenzie,
Isaiah and Elijah.
In 2006, Isaiah was diagnosed with AML.
Our family learned a lot about leukemia in a very short period of time.
Zachary was able to be Isaiah's bone marrow donor, and he was proud to do that for his little brother. The transplant seemed to be working,
but cancer can change, and his did.
I know everyone out there has been touched by cancer in some way. I pray for cures!
Isaiah passed away in 2008 after living a mostly
wonderful life, full of laughter, smiles and hugs and kisses! He was three years and four days old.
He got to go to Disney World, get a puppy, ride on many John Deere tractors, be a little brother, and be a big brother! Absolutely the most difficult time for our families imaginable.
Isaiah told us that he saw his angels many times.
I believe that he did.
God also blessed us with Eli when we needed joy and to be busy the most. We are very blessed to have this sweet little 2 1/2 year old with us.
Jake married his sweetheart, Sarah Cole, in 2008.
Owen was recently engaged to Meg Howland, they are planning a May wedding.
I love having these great kids and grandkids near-by. They keep life lively!!!
P.S. McKenzie and I have fun doing the
"McKenzie's cooking show, with her special guest,
grandma Joanie" in my kitchen, so fun!!!
