Edgewood High School West Covina Class of 1965 Reunion website class communication
Happy New Year and Blessings for 2023!
Boy that clock keeps turning. Shella, I hope you have a great birthday and a new year. Keep on traveling and enjoying life. You deserve it.
Hey Linda! I'm sure you know a lot of EHS Alumni and you may still live in the area. I had a lot of fun attending for the 1st time last year, which was at the Hurst Ranch venue. Hope you'll consider going on July 16th, and invite some other locals, too, if you can!
The EHS Alumni Website posted a schedule for Class Photos at the Picnic. We're at the beginning of the list!

Reunion Committee: Thanks for your reminder about the EHS All Classes Picnic on 7/16/2022. Dr. Louis Sergio always attends, usually in the mid-morning or so, and is kind enough to speak with ANY of his many students or acquaintances. Hoping he is still in excellent health and will be at this one, too. Hurst Ranch is easy to find--it's right across the street from the EHS running track and the (former) student parking lot. Anyone still have the car you drove in HS years? Pete Ashlock? Plan to go if you can, and proudly represent the c/o 1965! (You can message me here if you have any questions since I still live in the area.)
How are you Duayne? I hope your birthday is welcome and warm.
Hi, Nancy. Just got back from the 55 + 1 class reunion in Vegas. Sorry you couldn't be there, but I remember how nice it was to see you again at the 50th. Looking through 65 Yearbook and remembering a little more of those days. That quilt in your posted photo is beautiful and I hope you are still expressing beauty in all your life. Keep using this site: it's a nice way to connect. "Miracles" still at work.

Sue, you are always so kind to acknowledge the many birthdays of classmates throughout the YEARS! May all your good wishes for others return to you and multiply every day. Congratulations and Happy Birthday! Wishing YOU all the best.

Hi! I went to my first EHS All Class Picnic this past Saturday, July 17th, at Hurst Ranch, which is across the street from the EHS field. There was an air-conditioned hall set up with tables, a DJ,
and clean restrooms (!), as well as a large outdoor area for groups to meet and set up chairs and shade covers. You can bring your own booze (if you wish) since it's a private venue. I didn't expect to know anyone since the Edgewood Alumni website didn't have any posts from our "era." With a little serendipity I met up with Ed Villa! Class of '66 had a small group present; I knew Larry Lear and met the rest! I went there with the main purpose of seeing Dr. Louie Sergio (English) because I had heard he ALWAYS attended (except cancelled 2020, of course.) It was wonderful to see him again and tell him about how much he is appreciated and respected and loved by so many of us! He shared that he had "racked up" 65 years of teaching in his career, including Mark Keppel HS in Alhambra, EHS, and WCHS (when the schools merged in 1988.) After retiring from there, he realized he missed teaching too much, and then went back to teach at Mt. SAC for many years more! Lucky Community! He looked wonderful and plans to attend NEXT YEAR at the annual picnic held the 3rd Saturday of July and it will be at the same place. (That's July 16th, 2022, if you're ready to mark it on your calendar!) The other faculty members from 1965 that attended were Mrs. Dixie Olson (Art) and Mr. Ward Wenner (Math.) There were close to 400 Alumni from 1960 (1st) through 1988 (last before the merger) so you might run into SOMEONE you know! Hope to see you at our 55 + 1 Reunion in Vegas in October!
Happy Birthday John. What a long, strange trip, hey?!
