People have been asking about what to wear to the reunion. There's no dress code (unlike junior high) but we're suggesting cocktail attire.

Looking forward to seeing as many classmates as possible ... no matter what you're wearing!

A number of people have asked where we think most people are staying- we don't know for sure, though I have heard from a number of people who have rooms at the Orangeburg Marriott.

How long will the tickets be on sale for $75.00.   I am still hoping to come but won't be able to do anything right now.   I am getting ready to move to Orlando on the 20th of August.   Thank you for starting this message board.  Hope to see you all.

Thanks.

DEAR '73ERS: MY RECENT EXCHANGE WITH SOME OF YOU RE/ TEACHERS FROM OUR PAST PRODDED ME TO THE INTERNET, WHERE I FOUND (I THINK) MR. GLENN M. NELSON, SOCIAL STUDIES TEACHER FROM THE A-WING AT THE JR. HIGH, & SOCCER COACH TO MANY OF US, FOR THE '72 SEASON, WHEN WE ALMOST WON THE COUNTY CHAMPIONSHIP. I DON'T THINK HE'S ON FACEBOOK, BUT ONE NET SOURCE WROTE AN INCOMPLETE EMAIL ADDRESS, & A Snail-Mail ADDRESS IN CONGERS. HE IS NOW 87 YEARS YOUNG, WHICH WOULD'VE MADE HIM 37ISH WHEN HE COACHED US OUR SENIOR YEAR. I COULD SEE SENDING HIM A CARD OR SOMETHING (143 S HARRISON AVE, CONGERS, NY 10920), BUT I ALSO WONDER WHETHER THOSE OF YOU GOING TO REUNIONS THINK SOMETHING COULD BE DONE, TO HONOR OUR TEACHERS WHO ARE STILL WITH US, EITHER AT THE REUNION, OR THROUGH A GROUP EFFORT OF CARDS, E-MAILS, OR OTHER MODES OF SHOWING LOVE. I've also posted this on the Clarkstown class of '73 facebook page..

Bruce & I were in English class and study hall together.  We used to get into trouble by talking in class.  I thought we were friends, but never heard from him since graduation.  I researched and found his address and phone and sent him Holiday cards over the years with no response.  I too, would love to get back in touch with that character!

Bruce's family's house was back yard to back yard with our house in New City, ours on Gregory St, the Altman's on Gail Dr - just up the road from Little Tor Elementary School. We grew up together all the way through school. We weren't as close in high school as we had been in younger years. I have followed his acting career closely and am always a bit excited to see him, whether in movies or in an episode of a TV show - he did a lot of Law & Orders as well as being the Mayor of NYC in season one of Blue Bloods.  Unfortunately I, as many of us it seems, lost touch with Bruce over the years.

Is anyone going to the Reunion who lives in Manhattan?
Anyone interested in sharing a car service?
Let's connect!  Meryl

Dress code is whatever you like, but suggested as business informal. Be a mogul or a hippie if it so pleases, but show up so we can reconnect in style!

UPDATE: I've received three offers from you lovely people and am all set for transportation. I will be happy to thank you in person on the 13th!

Hi~ Can anyone passing by Nanuet on the way to/from the reunion give me a ride both ways? I'll be staying at my sister's that night, but without a car. Thanks in advance!

Is there a list anywhere on the site of who is attending so far?

Has anyone stayed in touch with Dave Curry from Congers?

Meryl- if you look at the Classmate Profiles tab, you will see a small icon ( head and shoulders symbol) next to everyone who has bought a ticket so far-

I cannot tell you just how much I am looking forward to this reunion. I went to the 30th and had a great time but this one should be even better...First of all, I lived to see it! Secondly, there are people who had a great influence on my life whether or not they intended that to happen...

My life has been such an amazing story that unfolded completely different from my expectations but I still would not change much of anything.

I have a very great friend close almost every conversation with the phrase, "I wish you enough". He means that whatever you do he wants you to have enough of everything to get through it...money, power, friendship, love, wisdom, knowledge. My life has been filled with enough. I hope that yours is as well.

And while I am looking forward to the people I will see, I will mourn for those who did not make it to see this...Whether by death or inaction...

One person I never see on any activity regarding our high school class is Kathy Tiernan...does anyone know what ever happened to her? She always teased me about my politics and promised me she would vote for me when I ran for President. Thank god that day never came but try telling that to an 18 year old who wanted to change the world.

See all of you soon!

Does anyone remember Alan Brickman ? I thought he was our year and he may have gone to Amherst ?

The name doesn't come up

Alan was 2 years behind us. His older sister, Carol, one or two years ahead. Their younger brother, Eli, was probably7 years later.

Jeff Simon, are you the same person who had an incident with our 6th grade teacher at Birchwood, Mr. Gustafson?

Doug Bowen

Jeff Simon

Doug Bowen,

Guilty as charged...At 12 years old it is hard to hold back when someone...anyone...slams your head against a concrete wall. I reacted. Today I would have handled it differently, but at 12 you simply react. He and I actually had a better relationship after that. We sat down and had a talk about why each of us did what we did and moved on. It has made a great story over the years...especially for my kids when we learned about how immediate reactions without thought can sometimes get you into trouble.

Are you going to the reunion? Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Doug and Jeff, I remember that day Jeff punched Mr. Gustafson. That was huge. I did not know what Mr. Gustafson did first until now. Miss Gorga was the other 6th grade teacher. Good times. P.S. Doug, I remember your older sister being our baby sitter for a while.

WOW! Jeff Simon. THAT is a blast from the past. I wish I was going to be at this pretty momentous (50??!! No way ...) reunion but I am headed to NY (I live in MN) with a girlfriend for a nostalgia tour Sep 18-21 so just miss this. Another year...

Nancy Brautman Demarco,

How are you rnjoying Canyon Lake? We looked there and in New Braunfels (I love New Braunfels) for quite a while before settling for the future in College Station (I am not an AGGIE!). Who would have thought that two people from Clarkstown South would end up living in Katy Texas and having their kids go to the same high school at the same time! Hope all is great with you!
