Bobby Shelton, age 65, passed away at North Mississippi Medical Center Hospice Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017.
He was born March 26, 1952, to Robert and Frances Shelton of West Point. Bobby attended West Point High School, where he excelled in football, baseball, and track, and graduated in 1970. He was awarded the George Barry Trophy for Best All-Around Athlete at his high school. After receiving his associate's degree from East Mississippi Community College in Scooba, he worked in the banking industry, serving as Manager of Pioneer Credit for a number of years. Bobby loved college football and playing pool. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in West Point.
Bobby is survived by his wife, Rebecca "Becky" Gallop Shelton of West Point; sister, Karen Shelton Moore of West Point; brothers: Danny and Jimmy "Jimbo" Shelton, both of West Point; brother-in-law, Gary Bartlett, Jr. of West Point; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
