After attending Mississippi State in 1971--1975, I began teaching with DeSoto County Schools in Hernando. I taught there for five years, married, and moved to my husband's hometown of Corinth where we've lived since 1980. It seems as though I've taught school all my life...a role that I have loved and plan to continue about five more years. After a recent change, I now teach 3rd grade in the same school I've been in for 30 years.
Our children are both grown and we are having to adjust to the empty nest. This has been difficult for me because my daughter and I are so close. Josh is married to a lovely girl, Emily, who already had two wonderful children. They gave us our first grandchild in April of 2010. Lucy Grace is absolutely beautiful. It seems we just never get to see her often enough. I'm sure all you other grandparents understand that!. Our daughter, Jenness, is a freshman at MUW in Columbus. It's a choice we never anticipated her making, but the W is a good fit for her.
I haven't been to West Point in years because both my parents are deceased, and we have very little family there now. I look forward to seeing many old friends at the reunion in June.
