I attended Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh - got a degree in Checmical Engineering, and Engineering and Public Policy. From there headed to New Hampshire, where my brother Brian got me an interview at his company (Nashua Corporation), and I started working there in October 1983. I met Jim the same month - at happy hour after work. We started dating and haven't been separated since.
We were married in February 1987 - so just celebrated our 21st anniversary. No kids.
In January 1991 we moved to California - this is probably the biggest reason for the no kids. We went to work at a start-up that Nashua had bought - and we were working 12 hour days - 6 or 7 days a week...no time for children in this lifestyle.
I managed to be promoted up to VP Operations - and then the company went bankrupt - same month my Dad died (actually closed down while I was home seeing Dad at the hospital) - 1998. Let's say it was a bad time.
I found another job running a wafer fab (Read Rite Corporation) - but then decided to take a job in England - and in 2002, Jim and I left for the mother land. We lived just south of Oxford - and had a fabulus 2 years there.
Then back to California (after a 6 week cross country drive)- where I imagine we will finish out our lives!
Retired at 60, now working at a local winery!! Life is good!
School Story:
There are just too many....but most of them good. I'm with Donna though, Godspell was a special time - and Jim still doesn't believe Natalie Merchant was in it with us - thanks god for pictures!
As I read everyone else's memories, it's been fun remembering what i can...and then realizing that i am getting old because i can't remember them all!
