Hi everyone-  This website is up for only a year unless we decide to finance it for longer. Let's use it! Many may not care anymore about school classmates from so long ago but for those of us that do this is a great place to reconnect. Sandy has really worked hard on seeing this through so I hope we get a good turnout. See you in July.

Don't be discouraged by the number of attendees but know you have done a great job at putting together the reunion. Already classmates have been reconnected and memories shared. Fell good in knowing you have done so much and your efforts have been successful. The July reunion is an unknowned as far as numbers but those that attend will be pleased. Thanks for all that you and others for the time you have put into this. Have a good day and stay positive. Kerry

It's not easy to organize a get together like this. It take a lot of time and hard work. Come on, let's take  this chance to see old friends and swap stories and lies. How many more chances will we get? It should be a lot of fun and I wouldn't miss it.

Sandy- You are the greatest!!! Such patience! I've let 53 e-mails accumulate on my computer and I've finally decided to respond. Just to let u know I am alive and well! And more than likely I am going to see u at the Franklin. By the way did I tell u I really HATE E-MAILING but I am going to grin & bear. See ya soon- Barb

Sandra Abbott (Famolaro)

Thanks Barb.  Probably all 53 emails were from me.

I had help finding classmates and securing the Franklin Hotel.  Janet (Acee) Foote actually booked the hotel and and Phyllis (Kerber) Lacey met with Janet and I at the Franklin to talk to the owners and come up with the menu.  These two ladies also dug through phone books and searched the computer for classmates.  Also, other classmates were contacting me with information they had.  I didn't do this alone.

Phyllis Lacey is having surgery Monday so, everyone, please keep her in your prayers.  She assures me she'll be recovered and well by July 16th.

I'm looking forward to the reunion and hope we get a good turnout.

Hi Barb- Nice to hear that you will join us in July. I just found out from someone (can't remember who) that you are still in the area. You'd think I'd run into you once in awhile! Of course if you liked to email we could keep in touch but from the sounds of it that won't happen. (Just in case janie3@roadrunner.com) Stop by if you are in the area. I would love to see you. Our strawberry fields (Tassleberry Farm) will be ready about the second week of June and I will be there selling berries everyday for about a month. Good excuse for you to visit. Janet

I have really enjoyed looking at our Westmoreland site.  Such fun to read what happened to our classmates.  I plan on attending the reunion in July - coming all the way from North Carolina.

Don't get discouraged - keep up the communications and hard work.  It is appreciated.

That's great Alvina!  Looking forward to seeing you.  I was reading your profile and was very impressed with your golf achievements.  I've tried, but can't seem to master the game.  My grandson (16 years old) likes to go with me because I'm so easy to beat:)

Phyllis Kerber called from Oneida Hospital to say her surgery had gone well. She left St. Elizabeth's Hospital on Tuesday and will be in rehab for about two weeks. Recovery will be slow but she says she will be ready to attend the reunion! Phyllis is a nurse and before the surgery she said she found it strange being on the other side of the bed. Hope all continues to go well for her.

Hi from Vernon, CT...have just read all the postings...  such fun.  I'd like to add my congratulations and thanks to all who are working on the reunion.  I think 17 coming (so far) is great.  My husband Tom and I think we will be able to attend...will make that final within the next week, as I know the deadline is June 18th.  I haven't been to Westmoreland in quite a long time, but Tom passed exit 32 on the Thruway not too long ago.  He took the time to go to the    cemetery to see my Mom and Dad, and also pass by our house.  He said that the house would make me sad as it is in rough shape.  But I say...I just remember the good memories, most of which revolve around the school and all of you.  Planning to see you soon.  Lynn

Glad to hear you're doing so well Phyllis.  I have more reunion attendees to add this week.  Because I'm in England, I'm slow to add them.   If anyone sees any of the missing classmates, please pass the reunion information on to them.

Well the time is drawing near and even though we are disappointed in the lack of interest in our class reunion, thanks to all who responded and are coming to reconnect with an important part of our past. Sandy has put a lot of time into this and hopefully we will use all the information she has gathered to get a 50th (yes I said 50) one rolling. Here's to a good time July 16th, see you all there. Janet

Hello Joann

Yes, the website is still up and available to classmates. We have 44 classmates who have posted profiles. The website statistics show that we get visitors several times a month but no one is using the site to contact other classmates or post messages.  In fact, you posted the first message since 2010.

At the 45 year reunion it was decided that we would try to keep the site so we have classmate information if a 50 year reunion were to happen.  It also supplies an avenue for classmates to contact eachother.  People who attended the reunion contributed money towards the yearly server fee of $97.  If you look at the CLASS BUDGET page you'll see we are now penniless and, if the site is to continue, we will need $97 in October.

I'm not sure if everyone gets notifications when a message is posted.  I think it's an option you have to select when you register to the web site.  Maybe it's time to see how everyone feels about the site and the possibility of a 50 year reunion.  If we're going to keep this available we'll need funds.  $3 a year from the active members of the site will keep it up and running.

Just want to give a big shout out to JoAnn Cattadoris Cucci and Phyllis Kerber Lacy and anyone else who helped out with the 1965 class reunion last weekend.  My husband and I had lots of fun.  I really enjoyed seeing those classmates who attended...and talking about those who didn't!  Thank goodness Jim Hibbard has a good pulse on the class of '65.  I think we accounted for almost everyone.  I hadn't been back home in a long while and we drove around a lot...up into the country...Lowell, Hecla, .Jenkins Road to find my great grandparents' home.  The schools look great.  Sorry the old Sweeting house isn't in very good repair.  But Be ky, Truett and I have our memories...and almost all of them include walking across that drive way and seeing our friends at WCS.  What a great place to grow up!

What a nice time we had at the 50th class Reunion.   Jim Hibbard shared his wealth of knowledge updating us on classmates as well as Ruth Benson, Kieth Balch and Ed Parigi.  Lynn Sweeting is still as sweet as always.  To everyone's surprise Carl Ross came with his beautiful and whitty wife.  Bill Falvo finally signed my yearbook, I guess I never asked before,  Phyllis Kerber assured there were wonderful door prizes and Cyntha Payne took home the basket of wine!  Donna Swanson came with big smiles and her handsome husband Stan.  Joe Calogero surprised us with his stores of being a hall monitor at Westmoreland.  Anson Perosis has not change on bit, making everyone smile with his warm wisdom and whit!  Gail Peck is as lovely as she was in highschool sharing stories and reminding us on what a great class we are! Sharon Lowe and Nancy Kessler shared photo's and more stories of long ago. I totally enjoyed seeing everyone and after reading every word everyone ever wrote in my yearbook confirm we were a totally awesome class and still are.

We missed thouse that could not join us. We talked about you too!  We went through every photo in the yearbook!  It was a hoot!  But here is the good news, yes there will be more gatherings.  We are not giving up yet.  Please let us know if you are coming to town at anytime and we will send out the word, find a place to meet and share a meal together.  We love and care about each and everyone of you.  Contact Sandy, Jim Hibbard or myself , keep us updated when you will be here!!  Warm wishes to all.  JoAnn Cattadoris Cucci

Here is a link to the photo's on dropbox from that night.  Sorry it is long, but I do not know how to re-name it. Enjoy the slide show!   just click on the link or cut and paste to your browser.

So sorry we weren't able to attend the class reunion as planned. We spend the summer traveling to see our 21 grandchildren, so that's our priority right now. We still have siblings in the area as well as one family in the Finger Lakes region so we still always try to get back to NY in the summer every year. We're still out west for a couple more weeks and won't get back to NY this year until early-Aug.
From the looks of the pictures, you had lots of fun and I'm so sorry we missed it. It would have been great to see everyone. Thanks to all that put so much work into making it successful and to JoAnn for taking and posting the pictures. Take care everyone.
