Robert Jeffery Bowers, 64, a resident of Annapolis since 1994, died June 8 at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring after a lengthy illness.
Born November 14, 1949 in Washington D.C., Robert retired from the Federal Government with over 30 years of service. After retiring, he was employed at the WAWA on Route 50 and was know as the coffee man. He was a Navy veteran of Vietnam. Robert was a Washington D.C. Sports fan - Redskins, Nationals, and Capitals - and enjoyed computers games and 50s, 60s and 70s music.
Robert was preceded in death by his brother, John David Bowers.
He is survived by his wife Diane Bowers, two daughters, Jamie Lynn Bowers and Amanda Leigh Bowers; two nephews, John David Bowers Jr. and Michael Walter Bowers; two nieces, Katie Marie Bowers and Michelle Evelyn Bowers; great-nephew, Jaxson David Matthews; and great-niece, Kennedy Lily Matthews.
Visitation is from 9 until funeral service begins at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 12 at Hardesty Funeral Home P.A., 12 Ridgely Ave., in Annapolis. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring.
The family requests that donations in Robert's name be made to the American Heart Association.
