Richard T. Culler

Richard Thomas Culler, age 63 passed away Monday, February 25. Richard was born in Washington, D. C. Richard served in the United States Navy. He attended Murray State University, where he met his wife Brenda. Richard then went on to receive a graduate degree from Indiana State University in Athletic Training. Richard then became the Athletic Trainer at Bel Air High School for thirty-one years, retiring in 2008. He loved the Bel Air community and all his athletes, students and fellow educators. He enjoyed his summers in Ocean City, Maryland and spending time with his sons. Richard is preceded in death by his mother JoAnne Culler. He is survived by his wife Brenda Culler; sons Bobby Joe Culler and Casey Edwards Culler; father Frank W. Culler; sisters Laura Gene Comfort and Claire Ellen Mack. I remember Richard the running back on the football team. He was humble and just a very nice guy. Loved to watch him do his thing on Saturdays.....go Knights!

One of the nicest guys you'd ever want to meet. Was our fullback and it seemed like he'd run through everybody. Was indeed a humble fellow, I admired him very much. He will be missed.

To my good friend, fellow classmate at Georgian Forest Elementary, Belt Jr. High and of course, Wheaton High, on behalf of the WHS Class of '68 - CONGRATULATIONS on your prospective induction into the Wheaton High School Athletic Hall of Fame this September 8, 2023!!! Your school spirit and legacy lives on, so well deserved my friend! Thanks for your devotion to students, service to our great nation, and a wonderful family man, too! Respectfully and with love to my fellow brother, Billy E.
