Rodney R. Hurt Restaurant Manager 

Rodney R. Hurt, 60, who managed the Hard Times Cafe in Rockville for 15 years, died August 31 of pneumonia at Montgomery General Hospital.

Mr. Hurt left Hard Times around 1995 to manage a restaurant in New Orleans until he evacuated following Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and returned to Rockville.

Rodney Raymond Hurt was born in Chattanooga, Tenn. His family moved to Rockville when he was a child. He graduated from Wheaton High School in 1968 and became a Navy submariner. After he left the Navy in 1974, he worked for several restaurants in San Diego before moving back to Rockville to manage Hard Times.

Survivors include a brother, Randy Hurt of Rockville.
