Gary Robert Michaelis, 62, of Manassas, passed away August 3rd, 2012 at his home. Born May 10th, 1950 in Pittsburgh, PA, he was the son of the late Robert and Beatrice Frater Michaelis. On May 9, 1981, in Vienna, VA he married Karen Rufner, who survives. Mr. Michaelis was a computer analyst and a member of the Manassas Presbyterian Church. Surviving besides his beloved wife, Karen Michaelis of Manassas, are one son, Eric Robert Michaelis also of Manassas; two brothers, Ronald of Oakton, VA; James of Gaithersburg, MD; one half sister, Mary of Friday Harbor Washington; four nieces and nine nephews; six great nieces and one great nephew. A celebration of Gary's life will be held on Saturaday, August 18, 2012 at 11am, at the Manassas Presbyterian Church, 8201 Ashton Avenue, Manassas, with Rev. Dr. Whitworth "Skip" Ferguson III officiating. All are Wellcome. Interment will be private and take place at a later date.
