Joel M. Strachman
Joel M. Strachman, age 58 of Norwalk, passed away on Tuesday, June 23, 2008 at Norwalk Hospital, following a brave, 16 month battle with cancer. He was the beloved husband of Marion (Fischer) Strachman. Mr. Strachman was born in Silver Springs, MD, son of the late Philip and Flora (Kemp) Strachman. He was a member of Congregation Beth El of Norwalk. As a well respected computer analyst for Dovetail Systems of New Jersey, he was the person that his colleagues would depend on for solutions. He was an avid jogger, and was a member of the Lightfoot Running Club of Norwalk. He completed the Mystic Marathon in 2004 and the New York Marathon in 2005 and 2007. Mr. Strachman was a kind and loving person, enjoyed his time doing projects around his home, and had a wonderful sense of humor.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his cherished children, Adam Strachman of Los Angeles, CA and Dena Strachman of Norwalk, his sisters Doreen Sperber-Weiss and Hedy Ross, his brother Lew Strachman, his mother-in-law Gizelle Fischer, his brothers-in-law Zoltan and Philip Fischer, and many nieces and nephews.
His family would like to express thanks to the Whittingham Cancer Center of Norwalk, especially Dr. Nair and Dr. Frank, the American Cancer Society, Connecticut Hospice, and to the many caring volunteers who came to the home to spend time with Joel.
Services will take place Thursday, June 25, at 11:00 am at The Abraham L. Green and Son Funeral Home, 88 Beach Rd. Fairfield, with interment following at Beth El Cemetery, Norwalk. |
