We're holding a "10-30" game during the reunion, Bob, and we'll save a chair for you!
Bob Laska and I ruled the UW-Madison student union bridge games our freshamn year. The highest compliment you can pay a bridge player is to call him a "natural", and Bob was a natural. Come to think of it, he was a natural at everything.
Bob was one of the smartest people I've ever known. When I was a newby 16 y/o driver( when you are apprehensive before entering an unsigned 4 way intersection ubiquitous around Whitefish Bay) I picked up Bob on on the 5100 block of Bay Ridge to go play cards. He immediately explained to me and the group in the car the logic involved in a safer way to brake a car at a red light. Bob was right and I use the technique to this day.
Bob and I dated at least 4 years and went to prom together one year. He brought me long stemmed roses on my 18th birthday and for some reason worshipped the ground I walked on. We split up our freshman year at different colleges. I will never forget riding around in his pink studebaker eating garlic bread from Mamma Mias.
