Nancy died unexpectedly on August 5, 2015, at the age of 67 in Leesburg, Florida, where she retired after an illustrious career serving people. She spent over 30 years working as a behavioral specialist with adults with mental disabilities, including more than a decade as the Assistant Director of Florida's largest agency for people with disabilities. She contributed greatly to improve the lives of her clients and was a constant advocate for them and their families. 

Her love of travel took her all over the world, including six continents and many third world countries. Nancy's great sense of humor brought much fun and joy to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by everyone who shared in her life. She is survived by her two sisters, Sally du Bois and Bonnie Benish, and her nephews and nieces, Trevor and Dustin du Bois, Virginia and Trisha Benish, Paige Benish and Adam Wayne.
