Franklin “Buzz” Schmidt, formerly of Whitefish Bay, Wisconsin passed away peacefully on October, 12 2022 in St. Charles, Illinois age 74. Buzz is survived by his son, Brian; grandsons, John, and Benjamin; as well as sister Veronica “Ronnie”. Buzz was preceded in death by his parents and brother John. A 1971 graduate of Loyola University in Chicago, Buzz went on to a 30-year career teaching British Literature and English Composition at Lockport Township High School in Lockport, Illinois. A talented multi-instrumentalist, Buzz was a founding member of Milwaukee area band The Redcoats and had the opportunity to play on stage with national touring artists as a member of the American Federation of Musicians, Milwaukee chapter. Memories of Buzz’s good humor as well as his love of music and the English language will be cherished by many who knew him as a beloved family member and teacher.
