Survived By: Northbridge- Frank J. Szerlag II, 70, of Hill St. died suddenly on Sunday. Jan. 11 at Milford Hospital. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Lynette R. (Hirtle) Szerlag; a son Stephen W. Szerlag and his wife Christine of Northbridge; 2 daughters Tracey J. and her husband Kevin Dandrade of Auburn, NH, and Jenna L. Szerlag- Payne and her husband Matthew Payne of Maui; 3 beloved granddaughters Ella Dandrade, Kayleigh Szerlag, and Kaitlyn Szerlag; his mother Rose M. (Michalik) Szerlag of Northbridge; a brother Martin P. Szerlag Jr. and his wife Kathleen of Northbridge; 2 sisters Barbara A. Villano of Wethersfield, CT and Kathryn M. Grace of Northbridge, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a grandson Brayden Wade Szerlag who died in 2007. Born in Worcester, MA on Dec. 15, 1944 Frank was son of the late Martin P. Szerlag and lived in Northbridge all his life.

Frank was a third generation dairy farmer, working with his grandfather, father, brother and son for 60+ years at the Szerlag Farm in Northbridge. He was a graduate of Northbridge High School and earned his Associate Degree in Liberal Arts at Worcester Junior College. A member of the Agri-Mark Co-Op, Frank always enjoyed his work. He loved being around his grandkids and taking vacations in rural upstate New York to look at the farmlands. He was a member of St. Peter’s Church. His funeral will be held Sat. Jan. 17 from Jackman Funeral Home, 12 Spring St. with a Mass at 11 am in St. Peter’s Church, 39 Church Ave., Northbridge. Burial will follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home are Fri.
